The Armageddon Code Book

Many people of faith believe we are in the end times. But what does the Bible say will happen during this time period?

It's a subject that has been debated over the centuries, and one that Billy Hallowell, faith editor for The Blaze, explores in his new book, The Armageddon Code, One Journalist's Quest for End-Times Answers.

Hallowell spoke with CBN News about his findings.

"We wanted to create something, a book that was different from the other books that were out there on the market by giving every single belief system involved in sort of the Protestant realm a fair game and a fair chance to be heard," Hallowell said.

Hallowell provides one-on-one interviews with 20 various leaders in Christian ministry, who share what they believe the Bible says about the end times. He also conducted a survey of 1,000 pastors for the book.

The goal is to educate readers on biblical teaching, provide different viewpoints from experts, and allow readers to draw conclusions about the last days.

"The way that this is laid out is it tackles each piece -- the rapture, the tribulation period, the millennium. It goes into the Antichrist -- the different views about the Antichrist," Hallowell explained.

"We get into Israel, which really is just the most fascinating I think in the book, the topic of Israel and 1948 and the regathering of Israel," he continued. "And then going into date setting and why Christians shouldn't be setting dates."

"It's like reading a conversation on this topic, which so rarely is done," Hallowell said. "I think so much of the time when we talk about this -- which is fine and great -- we hear it from pastors and theologians, and it's that one perspective."

"But I think this helps us understand what do Christians believe, why do they believe it and get a broader sense of that," he said.

"Our beliefs about the end times impact everything," he continued. "They impact how we view Israel, how we view current events, and I think it's really important that we understand that as Christians, but that we're also able to interact with fellow believers about those areas that we disagree."

"And to realize that a lot of these things are not salvation issues... They're disagreements, and people feel very passionately about them," Hallowell told CBN News.

"But I think really more than anything, this equips us to not only understand what others believe, but to understand what we believe a little bit better about the end times and what's to come," he said.
