Sales of the American flag, an important symbol of Memorial Day, have been rising this year.
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that sales for Elder Flag Manufacturing in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, are up 15 percent from last year, partly because it's an election year.
"We don't expect a decrease anytime soon. We feel it's going to continue," Elder Flag CEO Jodi Goglio said.
Another reason for the spike in sales is that the construction industry is improving and new buildings often need new flags.
But Goglio also says that most importantly, they believe there's been a rise in patriotism.
