Catcher David Ross once called his teammate Ben Zobrist "the most professional player I've ever been around."
Those who live by Zobrist might now know him as the coolest neighbor in town.
Hours after returning to Chicago, and being named the MVP of the 2016 World Series, Zobrist stood outside his house to talk to his neighbors, and sign a few autographs.
One local, Lauren Niz, said on Twitter "showing why he's the #MVP, @benzobrist18 is talking to every single neighbor 1 on 1... not just signing autographs. #WorldSeries

He was high fiving and talking to all the neighborhood kids that were around. He was as excited to be there as they were. https://t.co/AetMFWS1ug

"It wasn't planned," Zobrist said, according to WGN-TV. "Next thing you know, people asking for autographs."
Zobrist is sure to be a big hit now in any Chicago neighborhood. In the 10th inning of Game 7, he broke a 6-6 tie with an RBI double down the left field line. It was his tenth hit during a World Series in which he finished with a .357 batting average.
Zobrist continued to sign for a few hours, and later ended the impromptu autograph show by saying, "I wish I could sign all night long. God bless... thank you so much!"
