SAN FRANCISCO -- Steph Curry is considered one the best players in the NBA. Fans love his game and admire his faith and love for his family. But when he's not on the court, he cheers on his wife, Ayesha, who has quite a success story of her own.

She recently spoke with CBN News in San Francisco. Ayesha is her husband's biggest fan, but she hasn't always been a basketball fan.

"I come from a very artsy family," she said. "The only introduction to sports that I had before meeting my husband was Buffalo Bills football and Doug Flutely Flakes. My dad grew up in Buffalo and has been a Bills fan all his life."

Now, Ayesha's focus is NBA basketball, as she cheers on her husband at nearly all of the Warriors home games.

A Passion for Cooking

Away from the court, her passion moves to the kitchen, sharing recipes and cooking tips with the millions who follow her online and in her best-selling cookbook, The Seasoned Life: Food, Family, Faith and the Joy of Eating Well.

Completing it was a labor of love.

"There were points when I wanted to give up. There were points that were enjoyable and there were points where I didn't want to do it anymore," she says. "But I pushed through."

"And I am really happy that I did, because I now have this book full of quick and easy recipes for everyone to enjoy, but more so for me to pass down to my daughters," she added.

Before she embarked on her passion for cooking, Ayesha took at shot at acting.

"I left high school early and went out to L.A. to pursue it and I got to a point where I realized it wasn't for me," she said.

She admits she was good at it and had steady work, but ultimately, she said she didn't have a passion for it. She left Hollywood unsure of what was next for her.

"For a long time (I) didn't know what my career was going to be and I struggled with that for a while. But I prayed about it. I pressed through and realized it was staring me in my face my whole life," she said.

Prayer and a Push Lead to New Platforms

Prayer, along with a gentle push from her husband, helped Ayesha begin sharing her fun kitchen life. Fans quickly followed.

But Ayesha acknowledged the most important audience was her heavenly Father.

"I think it is very important because you can find yourself in a place where you don't want to be really quickly." Ayesha said. "I feel like it is important to make sure you are always praying, always talking to have clarity of mind and peace."

Ayesha regularly shares her family's Christian faith on social media, acknowledging she is first a believer, then a wife, then a mother.

With more than 4 million Instagram followers, she uses the platform to share her passions, which often comes with critics. But she brushes that off, simple saying, "People aren't going to like you 100 percent of the time."

She quickly felt some of that heat after tweeting criticisms of the NBA and again when questioning fashion trends she found a little too revealing.

"I mean, you can be an angel, and somebody is still going to have something to say," she said in regard to her online critics. "I really take it with a grain of salt, no pun intended."

Food Network Launches 'Ayesha's Homemade'

Her husband is phenomenal on the basketball court, but not so much in the kitchen, she said.

"He is getting better. Persistence is key," she joked. "It didn't start out so well, and there are some stories about that in the book as well. But he's getting better."

And Ayesha knows a bit about persistence. In addition to the cookbook, she also has a show on the Food Network called "Ayesha's Homemade."

But this opportunity came only after the executives said no multiple times.

"I guess my motto is let them say no until they say yes," she said. "Don't stop. Don't stop."
