Universities Screening Students for Ebola Virus

09-08-2014

American universities are taking steps to guard against international students bringing the Ebola virus onto their campuses.

As many as 10,000 students from affected countries will be coming to universities on the United States this fall.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says there's no cause for alarm, but some institutions are following CDC guidelines as a precaution.

The University of Illinois and Liberty University are among those checking the temperatures of students from West African nations.

They're also stressing that the disease is spread through bodily fluids and not by sitting next to someone in class.
