Days ahead of a White House visit on Friday, China's President Xi Jinping is pledging that his nation will cooperate with the United States on cyber issues.
The pledge follows warnings from American leaders of the toughest crackdown in years on Chinese activists and cyber crimes.
The White House is also concerned about climate change and China's island-building in the South China Sea.
Critics are still disappointed the issue of human rights is unlikely to dominate the agenda in that Friday meeting.
