President Trump's decision to pull US troops out of northern Syria to make way for a Turkish invasion fits neatly into his policy surrounding drawn-out military campaigns but it's drawing widespread backlash.

His decision puts Kurds in the region, who have fought alongside US troops to defeat ISIS at the mercy of their longtime enemy and America's ally, Turkey.
