The Jesus Tomb Hoax

03-17-2008

On Palm Sunday, thousands of Christian pilgrims re-enacted the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem 2,000 years ago. They walked down the Mount of Olives, across the Kidron Valley and into the Old City. Luke recorded the original Palm Sunday:

"When He came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"

Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!"

"I tell you," he replied, "If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out." (Luke 19:37-40)

The thousands who walked here in Jerusalem represented millions more around the world who believe in Jesus Christ, His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and more importantly, His triumphal resurrection one week later on Easter Sunday.

However, last year, a documentary called "The Lost Tomb of Jesus" questioned the validity of the resurrection.

The film raised the possibility that ossuaries, discovered in a tomb in 1980, might actually contain the bones of Jesus Christ. The movie cited many scientists, archaeologists and experts of ancient times. But many of those experts believe the film took statements out of context and twisted their meaning.

This year, another documentary called "The Jesus Tomb Hoax" interviewed several of the same people and portrayed their findings in an entirely different light. Many of them believe "The Lost Tomb of Jesus" was not the tomb of Jesus Christ.

The following link shows a trailer of a documentary that I believe deserves to be seen: lhvm.gospelcom.net/jesustombhoax/trailer.htm
