Two explosions rocked Israel yesterday. They exploded hundreds of miles apart but both struck deep into the heart of Israel.

The first was personal. A suicide bomber killed five Israeli tourists just as they arrived for a holiday in Bulgaria. Israeli Prime Minister immediately implicated Iran and its proxy Iran.

The second explosion in the middle of Damascus killed a number of Syrian President's Assad's inner circle. Many consider the attack a tipping point in the Syrian conflict and wonder if Assad's days are numbered.

If so, it has major implications for Israel. As a precaution, it looks like the Isreali Defense Force is preparing for a number of potential scenarios. It was just announced that because of the events in Syria, the IDF is halting weekend furloughs for soldiers.

We talked with Yaakov Katz, military correspondent for the Jerusalem Post. Here's his analysis of how these two attacks are connected and the military quandary it presents to Israel.
