JERUSALEM, Israel -- Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said the Palestinian Authority risks forfeiting U.S. aid if it brings Israel before the International Criminal Court on alleged war crime charges stemming from last summer's military response to rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip.
"When it comes to the Palestinian decision to seek ICC membership, we believe that to be provocative and we will push back strongly to register our displeasure," Lindsey told reporters Monday evening in Jerusalem.
"It is already part of our law that would require us to stop funding if they actually bring a case. The IDF is the heart and soul of Israel," Graham said. "Every Israeli has great affection for their military, and we believe this action would put the military at risk for defending their nation, and we will not stand by and watch this happen without a forceful response."
Graham arrived in Israel on the first leg of a Middle East tour that includes Qatar and Saudi Arabia. He's part of a seven-member delegation of senators headed up by Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
