Chick-fil-A fans will be happy to hear about the restaurants shorter lines all due to a brand new app, the food chain has created.
The app, "Chick-fil-A One" has ranked number one in the app store. It has been downloaded over a million times and led the most downloaded free app iTunes tally board when it made its debut.
Guests using the application can customize orders, and skip the long lines by paying in advance of pickup. The food is prepared once the buyer "checks in" at the pickup location.
Chick-fil-A's success comes from pursuing families and retaining loyal buyers.
"82 percent of millennial parents say they would do almost anything to avoid long lines at fast food restaurants when they are with their children," according to a press release.
"Forty-eight percent say they would rather not eat at all than stand in a line."
Chick-fil-A's moral stance also helps the company. Its founder, the late S. Truet Cathy was a devout Christian and so is his son Daniel. The Cathy family is known for the rare tradition of closing their stores on Sunday.
Despite facing a boycott over the so called "anti-LGBT" causes, the company beat the negativity with help from their loyal customers and saw a huge sales surge. They ended their year of controversy with a 14 percent rise in sales with earnings reaching the $4.6 billion mark.
Chick-fil-A is showing its loyalty toward their customers as well. The Chick-fil-A One app doubles as a rewards program. Those who join will be "surprised with their favorite food, which is based on their preferences and previous orders," once after making a certain number of purchases through the app.
"We know time is valuable, and we're excited to offer this new convenience that will empower guests to order what they want, when they want it and exactly how they want it, all from their mobile device," said Michael Lage, senior manager of digital experience for Chick-fil-A.
