Who Made the World and Everything in It?

Kompong Cham Province, Cambodia

10-year-old Len was curious. She wondered who had made the world and everything in it. “When I asked my elder sister she said ‘I don’t know. People are born from their mother, of course.’ My friend told me, ‘It’s Buddha that created people.’ A Hindu friend said that Vishnu is the one who created the world. Still I don’t understand how they did it so I didn’t believe my friends,” said Len.

Then a Christian friend told Len that Jesus created the heavens and the earth and the first people Adam and Eve. “I didn’t believe the Christian friend either. I just didn’t understand how it could happen. And mom didn’t like Christian people so she said I couldn’t go to the church.  

One Sunday morning, Len finally went to the the mission church in her village. That morning, they happened to be showing the CBN Superbook episode, In the Beginning. “I was surprised that they were showing THAT episode,” said Len. "When watched it I finally understood how Jesus created the world. First he made the light, then he made people from the dust of the earth!” she added, describing what she saw in the animated program. 

That day Len prayed to become a Christian. “I said, ‘Oh heavenly Father let me become one of your children,’” she told The 700 Club.  

With her mom’s permission, Len returned to the church and watched more episodes of Superbook. Len’s mom noticed some big change in her daughter. “Her personality changed!” her mom declared. “She started helping me with chores and helped her dad when he needed something. Sometimes she reads the Bible to me before we go to sleep.”   

“Now mom takes me to church sometimes too!” said Len. “I feel so happy when she takes me. I don’t think she believes in Jesus yet. But I am praying for her!"

Len has also invited her Buddhist and Hindu friends to watch Superbook with her. She told us one of them has prayed to become a Christian too. “I told my friend Phanary about Superbook and after she saw the story of creation she believed in Jesus too!” I want all my friend to believe in Jesus so they can have their sins forgiven and be with me in heaven’s Kingdom. Thank you to everyone who helped me know Jesus through Superbook!”
