JERUSALEM, Israel – There were no casualties in an airstrike earlier this week on a four-truck weapons convoy traveling north of Damascus near the Syrian-Lebanese border. Hezbollah blamed Israel for the attack.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) declined to comment on the airstrike, reported by a Lebanese website, according to Israeli media.

Israel monitors efforts to transport weaponry by land, vowing to do whatever is needed to prevent delivery to Hezbollah operatives.

Numbers of airstrikes on weapons convoys have been attributed to Israel, which the IDF never affirms or denies.

This past April, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that the IAF has carried out many airstrikes against Hezbollah in efforts to thwart Iranian efforts to arm the terror group.

In May, Hezbollah blamed Israel for the death of senior commander Mustafa Badreddine, killed in an airstrike in Syria.
