Chaos consumes Capitol Hill as Washington appears to be veering closer and closer toward what looks like the inevitable. Indeed, the unfolding scenario has pundits split. Some are predicting a last-minute compromise while others forecasting no way to avoid a shutdown.

Glass crunched beneath our feet. White soot drifted through the sunlight and the smell of fresh fire filled the air. A carpet of ash lay wall to wall. We walked gingerly through what remained of the once grand Amos Tadros church in Minya, Egypt. The fire burned so hot engineers say the 100-year-old church would have to be razed and rebuilt. The altar singed, seared and charred sat as a silent witness to what one Egyptian expert called the worst violence against the church in Egypt in nearly seven centuries.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell never joined in with Ted Cruz on the Senate floor during his Obamacare filibuster and today McConnell’s re-election Campaign Manager Jesse Benton told a Kentucky radio show host the fact that McConnell didn’t show up and speak is, “irrelevant.”The Brody File has the audio below.
