The mainstream media is scratching their collective heads about why Mitt Romney would publicly highlight his political/financial relationship with Donald Trump. They cite everything from his birther views to his mega wallet as reasons why this might not be a good idea.
People will disappoint you. It’s just a part of life. We’re all human and we make mistakes. Sometimes, people confront you even for doing the right thing. Sometimes, they will be angry with you for their own opinions that should not have stock in your life. Children begin to deal with this at a young age. My seven year old constantly is telling me that her and her best friend “broke up” again.
Here’s a question for you: what will be most important during the General Election? Winning the Independent vote or solidifying the base of your party?
It’s going to take a little of both but this idea that you have to ONLY court Independents to win elections just isn’t true. Without the base with you, Independents won’t matter.
Mitt Romney cannot make the mistake of consistently tracking to the middle in a quest to appeal to Independent voters. He needs to engage more forcefully with evangelicals and the Tea Party if he has any real shot at winning.
America's largest Hispanic Christian organization is weighing in on President Obama's recent change of heart on gay marriage. The Hispanic Evangelical Association (officially the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, or NHCLC) is calling on its 40,118 member churches to take part in a 40 day fast starting on June 1.
The purpose is to pray for "righteousness and favor in defense of God's institution of marriage."
