Bunnell, FL — Parts of Flagler Beach, Florida were among the hardest hit storm-affected communities. A portion of state highway A1A there was washed out by the storm surge.

Yet, most of Hurricane Matthew's damage was limited to fallen trees and power outages.

Bunnell resident Joe Brown, Jr. is among the 1.1 million Floridians without electricity. He told CBN News he had a few fallen tree branches scattered across his yard.

The damage at his church was worse – but even in the midst of a storm Brown said, "God is good all the time."

According to Brown, St. James Missionary Baptist church has been around for 100 years. It barely escaped potential catastrophic physical damage when the storm knocked over a towering tree, which fell a few feet away from the sanctuary.

Brown, who serves as a deacon, insisted St. James Missionary Baptist church will hold its usual Sunday worship services, adding members will have much for which to give thanks.
