David Brody: All right. And let me ask you one last question. You know, there’s been a lot of talk about Hillary in 2016, last time I checked, you’re not a Democrat. However, Newt Gingrich said on Meet the Press, as you probably heard, I don’t know if you even know, but he said on Meet the Press that the GOP is incapable of beating someone like Hillary in 2016. I know he was playing political prognosticator. Newt likes to do that. But, what do you make of all of this talk that Hillary, she’s going to be unbeatable in 2016? GOP doesn’t have a chance?
Rick Santorum: Yeah, I sort of heard something like that four years ago, five years ago, whatever it was when she was launching her campaign five years ago. What I’ve found is that everybody is beatable. And, it all depends on the circumstances the candidates are running against. I’m not particularly concerned about Hillary Clinton, or really anybody else. I think what’s going to happen over the next four years is going to dictate a lot as to where the voters’ minds are, and kind of restructuring, and it’s going to happen of the Republican party, and our movement, and our message is going to have a lot to say about who is going to be the victor, too.
So, I’m going to focus on what I can control, which is trying to make sure that the movement is in a position to elect somebody that is reflective of the principles of what made our country great, whether it’s me or somebody else. That’s what I did three years ago when I started on this journey of running for President. It really wasn’t, for me, to get elected. It was to make sure that we had the best chance at defeating Barack Obama.
And pretty much back in the same mold, which is, I’m going to be involved in making sure that we have our party in a position to get back on top, whether it’s we’ll be involved in Virginia in the Governor’s race in Virginia, I’m going to be involved in the 2014 off-year elections. This is a continual process, and looking forward four years, and looking at one candidate who may or may not be a candidate, that’s not, I’m not going to waste my time on that.
