Fred Travalena: The Man of a Thousand Faces
HE WHO LAUGHS...LASTS!
Fred Travalena is an impressionist and comedian who draws from his own personal experiences and observations. He utilizes over 400 impressions from singers and actors to politicians. His most famous impressions are of Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jack Nicholson. A 35 year show-business entertainer, Fred has performed in front of five U.S. Presidents, as well as Fortune 500 clubs.
BORN TO PERFORM
Fred was born in New York and grew up in Long Island. He was raised in the Catholic Church and later came to know Jesus as his personal Savior. He attributes his creative talents to his Italian-Irish heritage. The Travalena family gatherings often centered around music, comedy, and acting, and fueled his passion for entertaining. During his time in the Army, Fred won All-Army Entertainment award for best singer. He originally pursued a career in commercial art, but this choice was superseded by a strong interest in singing. Fred decided to add character portrayals in his musical repertoire because of the stiff music competition in the singing business. He delights audiences with impersonations of hundreds of highly visible public figures and has earned the name of "the Man of a Thousand Faces."
BABIES ARE IMPORTANT
Fred is passionate about saving the lives of unborn children, and he sponsors an organization called Babies are Important, which is a pro-life, pro-choice organization that provides a voice for the unborn. Babiesareimportant.com is a site that provides assistance on how to take care of babies, as well as information on contacting the Supreme Court about speaking against the Roe v. Wade decision.
Roe v. Wade was a decision handed down by the Supreme Court in 1973, making abortion legal in America. As a result of Roe v. Wade over 50,000,000 babies in America have been aborted – many by a procedure now banned by the Supreme Court called Partial Birth Abortion. Abortion is still legal in the United States resulting in 4,000 to 5,000 abortions every day. The mission of the site is to show love and compassion to all women and families who face making a decision on whether or not to have an abortion, and to provide information on ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness’ for the unborn. Fred says that the Lord put the issue of abortion on his heart, and has been working with Babies are Important ever since.
