Cold and flu season is once again upon us. Before we talk about how to get relief from these conditions, let's first talk about how to avoid them altogether.

Hand washing is the best defense against contracting sickness.

Also, most doctors recommend getting a flu shot beginning right now. They are available at most pharmacies for a nominal fee, and most places do not even require an appointment. The flu shot lasts for six moths, so now would be an ideal time to get one and it will last you through the winter.

My birthday is next week. Steve Jobs and I were the same age when he died. As my birthday celebration approaches, I have been thinking long and hard about what is important when we leave this Earth. Last night was the second to last GOP debate. It was on the campus of Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire prides itself on being the "First in the Nation" Primary. The debate last night, sponsored by Bloomberg News and The Washington Post, was focused all about the economy.

It's the number one issue for New Hampshire voters. It's the number one issue for the nation.

Here's my instant analysis of the debate last night.

The Lord has given us a God-size vision, and it is really with the end in mind. We want to be instrumental in whatever capacity God gives us to do our share for the closure of the Great Commission and the coming of our Lord.

The Trans-Alaska Pipeline System has the potential to supply enough oil to reduce the dependence on foreign sources.  Regulations, however, stand in the way.

Chris Christie has endorsed Mitt Romney for president. One word: Huge! And I’m not referring to Christie.

Look, he’s the guy coveted by both Romney and Perry. The Tea Party, for the most part, likes Christie a lot so this gives Romney SOME cover when it comes to that important voting block. But it also starts the drumbeat of how the mainstream establishment folks are starting to now get in line behind Romney.
