My friends Ari Abramowitz and Jeremy Gimpel, founders of the great website, The Land of Israel and hosts of the groundbreaking show, "Tuesday Night Live in Jerusalem," have released two powerful new videos.
The extremely well-produced, riveting clips explain both the historical and current existential threats that have gathered against the Jewish state and why the people of Israel must always retain the right to defend themselves against those who seek to destroy them.
This morning Israel came to a standstill. For two minutes this morning at 10 a.m. local time, a siren wailed throughout the nation. Israelis stood in silence and remembered the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust.
They stopped their cars and stood beside them. They stopped on sidewalks. They even stood inside busses.
You can watch the video we shot at one of Jerusalem’s busy intersections here:
It isn’t always easy to figure out whether a teen is simply in the throws of adolescent moodiness or is depressed. We have to rely on observing changes in behavior and looking for symptoms that fit depression. Picking up on teen depression is important because it can lead to suicide, substance abuse, physical illness and more if untreated. Approximately 25 percent of teens and young adults suffer from major depression.
I received a panicked call the other day from a father who was recently separated from his wife, fearing it might lead to a divorce. I had been working with him to assist him in coping with this devastating experience. As if this was not enough stress in his life, he now had to manage moving out of his home, rearrange finances to accommodate two houses and deal with new concerns about his children. “I’m not calling about me this time,” Bradley said.
Seek first the kingdom of God? Well, by my nature, I don’t usually seek Him first. Maybe second…sometimes. Lately, I’ve been thinking about this paradoxical conflict between my soul and my flesh. The first 17 years of my life were spent trying to do things my own way and solve problems as they came along. My will was independent, or realistically, devoid of godly counsel.

My wife Nedra of the Ronettes knew, worked and toured with Dick Clark back in the sixties. She introduced me to him at an awards ceremony in California a number of years ago. Upon our introduction he remarked: “Scott, I slept with your wife for a month on a road tour years ago!”
