A little bit of mix of "coochie coochie," with a little bit of sexy attitude. From rags to riches and back. I had nothing. Hear the legend of Super Olga. Plus . . . . You can't get set in your ways. Change you can believe in, straight from the Secret Kingdom. Well, welcome to The 700 Club. The Greek capital of Athens is being rocked with tear gas and stun grenades as rioters protest drastic budget cuts. Those cuts are the only way for Greece to get European bailout money. And you know what, Pat? Greece teeters off the brink of a meltdown with global consequences, and some are saying it's a wake-up call for the United States. Dale Hurd has that story. Rioters threw rocks and firebombs at police in Athens as a general strike against new austerity measures brought the country to a standstill. The new austerity drive which will mean big cuts in government social spending has led to more and more violence in the streets. This union head warns . . . . . . . . the austerity measures will create "continuing repetitive social explosions that unfortunately will be uncontrollable." Without austerity measures and another bailout, Greece faces the prospect of a default next month, a potentially disastrous event that could drag down European banks and hurt other financially troubled European countries. (Hamburg, Germany): As the debt crisis lingers and worsens, more and more analysts are saying the Euro Zone is going to be damaged or destroyed. Market Analyst Nouriel Roubini has warned that if this continues, "The euro will move toward disorderly debt workouts and eventually a break-up of the monetary union itself as some of the weaker members crash out." Although U.S. businesses and banks are not severely exposed to Greece's economy, a Greek collapse could start a ripple effect of more defaults through the European Union and then the world economy, pulling the United States down with it. Many economists warn that Greece should serve as a warning sign to Washington, that unless the U.S. government gets its budget under control, America could see its own debt crisis sooner rather than later. Dale Hurd, CBN News in Hamburg, Germany. You might say, "What in the world do I care about Greece?" Unless you're Greek, you don't care. Well, you ought to care. I'll tell you what happened. Back in the late 1920's there was a German bank, not all that big, but it was a significant bank named Credit-Anstalt. That bank went busted. Guess what happened? It started a chain reaction that led to the so-called "Great Depression." People were failing all over the world. And if the Greek debt goes in, then Portugal's debt, and then Ireland's debt, and then Spain's debt, and then suddenly it begins to collapse, and then it pulls down American banks, and then there's no more money for credit and no more money for building, and suddenly we're in trouble. So in my opinion, the best thing that can happen right now is for Greece to spin out of the euro and go in its own way with a drachma, and if they default, then that's tough luck. But we can't just keep bailing them out, especially when the riders don't want to control the situation; they don't want fiscal discipline. They just want more spending. We've got some of that here in the United States, but you think we're too big to fall? No, we're not. So there are storm clouds on the horizon. It may take a couple of years, but it's going to happen unless we get our house in order and, as was said in that piece, this should be a wakeup call to all of us. Well, Lee Webb has the rest of our top stories from the CBN Newsroom. Lee? Pat, 19 people are dead after suicide bombers attacked a hotel in Afghanistan. Terrorists stormed the popular Inter-Continental in Kabul. It happened during a conference which ironically dealt with handing over security responsibilities to Afghan forces by the end of 2014. NATO helicopters killed three of the terrorists on the roof of the hotel. Afghan security forces then rushed in and killed the remaining five terrorists. Afghan officials say the attackers were heavily armed with machine guns, anti aircraft weapons, rocket propelled grenades, hand grenades, and grenade launchers. Hotel guests say they heard gunfire throughout the hotel. It was huge blasts, some five, six blasts. There was an entire floor blasted. The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack, Pat. Well, this should be a warning to President Obama. He's acting a little too precipitately. The minute we start pulling out, the Taliban is going to say it's our country, we're going to take over; and the government of Hamid Karzai is not capable of taking security. They are corrupt! Karzai is corrupt. It is a center of drug trafficking, of heroin production, and it's high time we recognized it. We probably should never have gotten into it to begin with, but once we're in it, as was said a few years ago by the secretary of state, "Once you break it, you own it." And we own it right now. It's our country. So it's time we get something done. But the Taliban is just itching to get his hands on our heavy weapons and overrun our positions as soon as we show weakness and begin to deploy, to come out. And it's not a good thing, so yielding to domestic pressure, we could do worse damage than if we had never touched Afghanistan. Lee. Pat, Iran says it's missiles can reach Israel and US military bases. Iran's revolutionary guard just tested surface-to-surface missiles like this with a range of 1200 miles. The missiles put Israel, US bases in the Persian Gulf, and parts of Europe within Iran's' reach. Washington and Israel are not ruling out military strikes in Iran if diplomatic efforts do not stop its development of nuclear weapons. CBN News terrorism analyst Erick Stakelbeck says this latest missile threat is just another sign of Iranian boldness. This shows clearly that this Iranian problem extends far beyond the Middle East. This is not just a problem for Israel. Iran is a problem for the world. They truly believe that they can usher in the end times, usher in the return of the Islamic messiah if they act forcefully in the Middle East. You can hear more from Erick at his blog, Stakelbeck on Terror. That's on our web site at CBNNews.com. President Obama says the goal of his healthcare law is for every American to have health insurance. So why is his administration issuing so many waivers excusing organizations and businesses from the new law? As Jennifer Wishon explains, political pressure from the Republicans is about to bring that practice to a stop. Nursing homes, lavish restaurants and even night clubs have been excused from parts of the massive new healthcare law. Fourteen hundred waivers have been approved, but at the end of September the administration will stop taking applications. If the bill was so good, you wouldn't need all these waivers. Utah Sen. Orrin. Hatch is one of many lawmakers wanting answers from the administration, specifically which groups were denied waivers, a question that became more pressing once critics saw who got them. Most of the waivers were given to unions and companies and for companies with businesses within some of the leading liberal Democrats' jurisdictions. That includes House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. The Health and Human Services Director who hands out waivers says . . . . . . . . "There is no role that politics plays in any way, shape or form in the processing of the waiver application." Instead of political poker chips, the Obama Administration insists waivers serve as a bridge. When the law takes full effect in 2014, employees dropped from their employer's insurance can enter the new taxpayer subsidized healthcare exchange. Until then, a portion of the healthcare law dealing with annual benefit payments could put workers at risk of losing their coverage. That creates a PR nightmare for the administration, a law designed to get more Americans insured could cause people to lose their insurance without a waiver. I think that everyone should hate the Obamacare waiver story. People who love Obamacare should hate it, because there are people being waived from it; and people who hate Obamacare should hate the waivers, because there are people who aren't being waived. The Government Accountability Office recently found the administration used objective standards to issue waivers, but critics argue the process seems shady. The problem is when you do this kind of thing, you create something that's arbitrary, this waiver process, and you do—even if you're being straight and honest, you do create suspicion, because it's a "who you know" process. It's on not what the law says. The Obama Administration said companies that would have benefited from waivers have probably already applied for them, so ending the program won't hurt. Ending the waiver program also ends a political distraction for the president as he runs for reelection in 2012. Jennifer Wishon, CBN News, Washington. Movie premiers aren't that common in the state of Iowa, but when an election is around the corner, the American heartland becomes the center of attention. And it helps that the star of the film is Sarah Palin. CBN's chief political correspondent David Brody has that story. David Brody has that story. Signs and people lining the streets of Pella is an unusual sight, so you knew something was in the air. Then the star of the evening arrived. Fans reached for their cameras, hoped for a handshake, and supported Sarah Palin no matter what the media has to say. I don't get caught up into all the stupid hype, the bad things they want to say about her. I appreciate her conservative values and she's a Christian. She was the CEO of 25,000 employees. "The Undefeated" portrays Palin as a tough-as-nails governor who faces constant criticism. Palin was not involved with the film at all. The director is simply a big fan. It was the pop culture, just vulgarity and violence against this woman that was just incredible, paintings of her being crucified, paintings of her with her face ripped off, paintings of her with just all forms of just this physical violence. After the event, Palin mingled at a cookout with the locals and also got up close and personal with her fans. And I never thought you'd pick Pella. Oh, my goodness. We're so glad to be in Pella. Of all the places you could have gone. Oh, well, we're just so happy to get to be here and it's wonderful to get to meet you here. Thank you for coming. Thank you. And talking. Thank you. God bless you. God bless you. You're just beautiful. Thank you. Besides her fans, the media also mobbed Palin. CBN News managed to get in there, too, as she stopped to talk with us. Should all of your critics see this movie? I think everybody needs to see this movie who are tired of what the media can do to a person's record and reputation in an attempt to destruct somebody's reputation. So will she put that reputation on the line again in 2012? Just her appearance in Iowa during campaign season is enough to start rumors. I think everybody has kind of lost track of her, but I think that it's going to revive it again. With her movie debut now in the books, the attention now shifts to whether or not she'll make her campaign debut anytime soon. And here's what we know: absolutely nothing. And it's just the way Sarah Palin likes it. David Brody, CBN News, in Pella, Iowa. Stay tuned. Who says older folks aren't into the new social media? Pope Benedict used an iPad to send his first Twitter message. That's right, the pope. He wrote in English, "Dear Friends, I just launched News.va. Praised be our Lord Jesus Christ! With my prayers and blessings." And then he signed the Tweet using his Latin name. The pope is also on YouTube, Facebook, and MySpace. Now, Pat, I know that our IT folks were preparing an iPad for you to use. Have you started using it? My wife is using it and loves it. But I guess she got me a book, I think. The latest Clancy book is on the iPad, and I've got to get her iPad in order to read the book. Now, would you ever be interested in Tweeting, Pat? Not really, but I may have to. My dog is on Facebook. He's got almost 2,000 Facebook friends. What can I say? I've got to keep up with Blue. You have to keep up with Blue. Somebody does. Okay. Well, listen, up next, we've got explorers who have found the world's largest offshore gas reserve in a decade. We're going to show you where it was discovered and why it's so important. That's up next on The 700 Club. Still ahead . . . . A little bit of mix of coochie-coochie with a little bit of sexy attitude. And I became Super Olga overnight. A Mexican superstar. Money, money, money, tours, feathers. Now I need dancers. Now more dancers. The rise . . . . My dream came true. . . . . and fall of the diva of the violin. I have nothing. His secret agony. The pain is real. And people are, "Well, take a pain pill." Uh-uh, man, it's like taking an aspirin when you broke your leg. That stuff doesn't work. And you'll never believe how bad it got. She caught me on the floor at about two o'clock in the morning. I couldn't breathe, and I was just like (gasping). Tomorrow on The 700 Club. Well, the joke in the Middle East is the reason that it took Moses 40 years to get into the Promised Land, as he took that long to find a part of the Middle East that didn't have any oil. And Israel, the joke is how come they turned left instead of right when all that oil is in Saudi Arabia? Well, all of a sudden, Israel is hit. Delek and Noble Energy have come up with a monster gas deposit in the Mediterranean off the coast of Israel. And this has the potential of changing the way that the Israelis do business, plus on land in Israel there is shale oil that is equal to what's in Saudi Arabia, maybe as many as 250 billion barrels of oil. It's incredible. So Wendy Griffith has the story on this exciting development. Wendy. Some are calling it a potential energy revolution. Off the coast of Israel in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, explorers have found the largest offshore gas reserve in the world in a decade. This is a major development because Israel has long been one of the few Middle East countries without its own oil and gas resources. The joke was why did it take Moses 40 years to bring the people of Israel from Egypt to Israel? Because he looked for the only place in the Middle East that lacked oil and gas. So that was the joke. But we proved the joke to be wrong, and actually we know that Moses brought us to the right place. Delek Energy and its American partner, Noble, are behind the discoveries that will start producing natural gas for customers in 2015. Energy expert and former CIA chief James Woolsey says the gas fields could make Israel energy independent. They're extraordinarily important and strategically very advantageous I think for Israel. Not only is Israel sitting on huge natural gas reserves, the country is also rich in oil shale, a fine-grained rock from which oil is extracted through cutting edge technology. Scientist Harold Vinegar says the amount of oil shale buried here might equal the oil reserves of Saudi Arabia. We think it's conservatively estimated at about 250 billion barrels of oil contained in the Israeli oil shale, probably the second or third largest deposit in the whole world. And it has a tremendous potential to make an oil industry here. Experts say there's enough oil shale to produce at least 50,000 barrels of oil a day, enough to meet Israel's military and civil aviation needs for 25 years. Israel Energy Initiatives is now performing quality tests. I have a piece of oil shale here that we've just cored in this rig behind us. Vinegar is a former chief scientist for Shell. He says the samples show the oil quality is high before it's even refined. As the world population increases, so will the demand for oil, and that will push up the price. Countries like Israel that import most of their energy will have to develop unconventional resources. There's nothing scarier than running out of energy. Wars have been fought entirely for oil. And so this is something that we feel we're doing for Israel, which is to develop the oil shale here. And if his group's plans work out, this land will hold even more promise for the future. Wendy Griffith, CBN News. The 38th chapter of Ezekiel talks about somebody coming in to take a prize. There hasn't been much prize there up to date, but this could be the big prize. And I might add, there are also oil deposits off the coast of Cypress. They're up looking at that, and Syria is going to start claiming that this part of the Mediterranean belongs to them. And before long, there will probably be some kind of a fight. If you don't have anything, nobody is going to try to fight to take your money away from you, but once they get it, then they're going to have to defend it, because the bad guys are going to want to take it away from them. But this is a great development, but it will take another year and a half or so before it begins to flow. But a tremendous thing, and Noble Energy, I think of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is the leading part, along with the Israeli company Delek. And it is a tremendous find. But here in the United States, folks, we have huge amounts of natural gas in shale, and we also have some oil in shale. Some of the shales hold oil as they do in the Middle East. So it's incredible. It's like a source bed. And up to this date, people have always done so-called vertical drilling. It drilled a hole straight down in the ground and it didn't do much. But now they have horizontal drilling, so they go in, and then they turn and they go maybe four or five thousand feet into the rock formation. And then they do what's called fracking, and they break the rocks up, and all of a sudden, the gas starts flowing and the oil starts flowing. We have a lot of that. Pennsylvania is enormously rich in it, as is Texas, as is Louisiana, as is Wyoming and some of the other states in the United States. We don't have to worry about what the Saudis are going to do. We have our own, if just the environmentalists will let us develop it. Now you know. Interesting. Well, that was interesting. Okay. I was sitting there thinking, "Maybe I need to purchase a drill and go and get the gas myself." That's right, your own drill. I should. You look like a wild catter. On that note, we're going to switch gears a little bit. Up next, her name is Super Olga, and she was once the toast of Mexico. I had six female dancers, four male dancers, a mariachi band. Now let me have something new. Animals. The character of Super Olga is working. She sure enough is working, so watch what happened when the diva of the violin actually took her act to Vegas, after this. My mirror's not my best friend, but we are getting along. Have you ever heard the expression "good as gold?" Well, gold is on everybody's minds these days, and rightfully so, having risen in value dramatically since 2001. For years now, I've been singing the praises of one of the most recognized and trusted names in gold, Swiss America. They believe, like I do, that people need to know what's good about gold. Gold has withstood the test of time, and so has Swiss America. Now is the time to rediscover gold, because gold offers diversification, profit, potential, and best of all, privacy. Call or visit online now and ask for the Pat Boone DVD, and they will gladly rush out a copy along with other information about getting gold into your nest egg. If you're going to buy gold, buy it from a company you can trust. I did. And I've been a satisfied Swiss America customer for over 15 years. They are as good as gold. Call or log on right now. To listen to our top songs of the week, go to CBN Radio at CBN.com. The Mexican press called her "La Numero Uno." And for many years, Olga Breeskin was considered the number one female entertainer in that whole country. Super Olga was also known as the diva of the violin. But eventually her lavish life turned as tragic as her saddest song. I created a character, that it was sensual. It was elegant. It was revealing. It was a little bit of a mix of coochie-coochie, with a little bit of sexy attitude. And I became Super Olga overnight. Suddenly I have two and three cars. Instead of a little horrible apartment, I have a mansion. Not even one, I have two or three. The character of Super Olga is working. Two shows a day. Twelve shows a week. Money, money, money. Tours. Feathers. Now I need dancers, now more dancers. Now let me have something new. Animals. I had everything I was dreaming, but I feel like a kind of emptiness in my heart. Why do I feel sad? There is no reason. So I was trying to fill that whole in my heart. I fell into the alcohol. I was a drug addict. I was an alcoholic. People didn't notice that I was drunk almost, not every show in TV, but very, very often. I had six female dancers, four male dancers, a mariachi band. I was so happy because I thought this was what I was waiting all my life. My dream came true. I'll be the queen of Las Vegas. And I did the same pattern, tried to fill the hole in my heart with alcohol. And I started having anxiety attacks, panic attacks, nightmares, depression. When I lost my last home, I rent out in a one room in Las Vegas. But I was so embarrassed for the diva of the violin who came in 1988 with a mansion, with money, with a fortune, to live in this room. I didn't have any savings. I didn't have any proposals. I didn't have any contracts. I didn't have any hope. So in other words I had nothing. She said, "Sister, somebody loves you very much." And I said, "I don't think so." She said, "Yes. I know you are broke, but I already sent you some money through Western Union. Pick up that money and come to San Diego for a Christian retreat." So the day after, instead of being in the cemetery, I was in Jesus' arms. I fell in love with Jesus Christ. And I changed my life. He gave me the hope that not everything was lost. No, this is the beginning of a new life. I only live to worship Jesus Christ. That's all I want. That's all my hope. That's all my happiness. That hole that was in my heart now is the house, is the home for Jesus Christ, because He lives here. What a story. You know something? That should teach us all something, shouldn't it? Because no amount of fame, no amount of fortune, no amount of cars, no amount of lavish homes, no amount of adulation from the public, none of that can fill the empty longing in our heart. As was said, we have a God-shaped vacuum in our heart, and it can only be filled by Jesus Christ. Olga realized that, just the day before she was going to kill herself. And I say to you today, don't do it. Don't think of killing yourself. There is hope, and there is joy. But all that tinsel and adornment of the world had to be taken away. And that's what I was reading today in the book of Hebrews. It said, "Yes, one more, I will shake the world." And it signifies that what can be shaken will be shaken and only what's permanent will remain. You see, that's what's real. All this other is tinsel. All this other is vanishing. You look at some of the famous beauties of Hollywood, and you see them 30 to 40 years later, and that beauty is gone. But God never changes. His beauty never changes. His power never diminishes. And He can do something for you, but will you listen to what Olga had to say? You say, "All right, I'll do it." Well, I want you to do something right now. I want you to bow your head, and I want you to ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart, make you the person He wants you to be. Bow your head. Pray these words. "Lord Jesus Christ, I'm sorry, Lord. I've been grabbing after the brass ring of fame and fortune. I've been trying to emulate the rich. I've been trying to be somebody special on this earth. God, I'm sorry. And right now, I ask you to forgive me. It isn't necessary to take everything away from me, Lord. I give it to you right now. Keep what you want. If you want to give any of it back, that's fine. But it's all yours. I give you my life. I give you my family. I give you my possessions. I give you everything. And Lord Jesus, I ask right now that you will come into my heart, live your life in me, and I will live for you and I will serve you all the days of my life. Thank you, Jesus, for hearing my prayer. Thank you for coming into my heart." And for those who prayed with me just then, let the anointing power of the Holy Spirit touch you in this moment. Be filled with His Spirit. Amen. For those who prayed, I'm offering something to you. It's called "A New Day." It has a 73-minute CD in here. You can play it in your CD changer. I guess you've got one in your car. Most people do. A New Mexico wildfire threatens the nation's top nuclear weapons lab, including a dump site with 20,000 barrels of plutonium-contaminated waste. Lab authorities say the dangerous materials are safely stored, and that flames should not reach the barrels. Still, some fear the fire will send radioactive plutonium dust into the air. This fire started Sunday and is still out of control. It has destroyed around 30 buildings in the New Mexico countryside and has forced the evacuation of 11,000 Los Alamos residents. She caught me on the floor at about two o'clock in the morning. I couldn't breathe, and I was just like [gasping]. Tomorrow on The 700 Club. Well, today, we continue our series from The Secret Kingdom. And this time, check this out, you get a double shot. Pat is going to discuss two laws. One, the law of fidelity, and two, the law of change. So take a look. Jesus Christ is God, was God. When He came to earth as a man He was God. And I began to understand something about Jesus. If He is God, and if He makes a statement without regard to the recipient, to the time, the place, or the circumstances, if He makes a general statement, that statement is as valid as one of the laws of nature. It's as valid as the law of gravity. It is as valid as the law of thermodynamics. It is a principle that will hold true for all people of all cultures, everywhere. And from that came the book The Secret Kingdom. And we're talking about some of the principles that were enunciated by Jesus. Now here is one that He said that I think is a fundamental law. He says, "He that is faithful in small things is faithful in much. But he that is not faithful in small things is not faithful in much." A story is told about the Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, who was very famous in his day. He was at a dinner party sitting next to an extraordinarily beautiful actress. And he said to her, "Let me ask you a question." She said, "All right, what is it, Mr. Shaw?" He said, "Would you sleep with a strange man if you were paid a million pounds sterling?" And she thought for a minute, and she said, "Well, I think I would." And he said, "Well, let me ask you another question." She said, "What is that?" "Would you sleep with a strange man for five pounds?" And she said, "What do you think I am?" He said, "I've already determined that. I'm just trying to find the price." She that is faithful in little things is faithful in much. Now if you'd sell your soul for a million dollars, you have sold your soul. It doesn't matter. You say, "Well, I wouldn't do it for five dollars, but I'd do it for a million." No way. That's the law of fidelity, we call it. He that is faithful in little things is faithful in much. So when God is going to test you in the beginning, He's going to give you some small tasks to see if you're faithful. I know many young people are in a try out mode in a business or in a profession. And they're given some seemingly insignificant task to see how they perform it. And if they don't perform well, their superiors will mark them down and say they're not capable. And don't think, "Well, he's lying now. He's lying next week. He lied the week before. He'll keep on lying until he gets some really big deals, then he is going to tell the truth." No way. A little lie is still a lie. And that was asked to the famous evangelist Billy Sunday. This lady said, "Reverend Sunday, will you tell me how I can stop exaggerating?" And Sunday said, "Lady, call it lying." We have little sins, little peccadilloes. God doesn't rate them that way. They're all the same. An offense is an offense. The sin is still a sin. And if you're faithful in little, you'll be faithful in much. Now, let's move on to something else that is also one of the principles of the Kingdom of God. We think of God Himself, He said, "I am the Lord. I change not." So the laws of God are immutable. They don't change. The laws that govern the solar bodies, they don't change. The law of seed time, and harvest, that doesn't change. God said, "I am the Lord. I change not." So when we think of God, we think of something that is changeless. But, yet, we have to recognize something else. And that is that the circumstances in which we live change. And so Jesus said it this way, "No man takes new wine and puts it into old skins, because if he does it, the skins will burst and the wine will be lost." Because the skins have to change to accommodate the new wine. And if God is getting ready to do something new on the face of the earth, He also needs new vehicles, new skins, if you will. When I first came down to the Tidewater, Virginia, area, I had a commission from God to build or start a Christian television station. Never been done before exactly the way that I was going to do it. And I was bubbling with enthusiasm about what was going to be possible. So I went to the Portsmouth, Virginia, ministerial association meeting. And they sat around and listened to me give my impassioned speech. And then I left and went out to make a telephone call. As I stepped into the little booth where the phone was, I overheard two of these so-called men of God talking. And you know what they said? One of them said, "If we can't stop it, at least we can disassociate ourselves from it." You talk about old skins, brother. They were old, plenty old. They couldn't accommodate something new. God was bringing in a new wave of techniques and technology. And all they could think about was how they did it before, and they wanted to kill something that came out that was new, because they didn't adapt to change. There is change. You have change for the worst and change for the best. Some years ago, United Press International was in dire straits. As a matter of fact, it went into bankruptcy. You're familiar, I'm sure, with UPI. There was AP and UPI. And that was one of the leading news sources. So they had a sale of these bankrupt assets in the federal courthouse in Rutland, Vermont. So I traveled up to Vermont and thought I might just throw in a bid and see what happened. Well, it turned out that I was the only bidder, and I was the only person who had put any money up to buy the thing. And I didn't put up a lot, and I won the bid. CBN is now the owner of UPI. But I had a 30-day clause that I could examine the property and do what is called due diligence. So I went into the offices, and they were very gracious. The people who worked there were quite gracious. The reporters were nice, because, after all, I was going to be their new boss, and they'd better be nice, so they were nice. And as I began to look at it, I had a team of experts. And first of all, the accountant said, "Don't do it." And the lawyers said, "Don't do it." And then some others in the media said, "Don't do it." And finally I began to realize that I was praying this scripture, "Nobody puts new wine into old skins." Their equipment was old. Their technology was old. Their news gathering was old. Everything they did was old. And here we're moving into the digital age, and we've subsequently come on high definition. We've come on the Internet. We've come on satellite delivery and all the things we take for granted. And God had put us in a position in terms of news gathering that was far, far ahead of this old system. So I passed, reluctantly, because I thought it would be a nice thing to have UPI. It sounds prestigious. But it was old, and if I'd poured new wine into those old skins, not only would the skins break, but the wine would be lost. So keep in mind, wherever you are, that God does new things. He does not change. The Gospel does not change. It is eternal. "From everlasting to everlasting, I am God." But that doesn't mean that His techniques don't change. His way of dealing with business changes. His way of dealing with politics changes. And certainly His way of presenting the Gospel to mankind changes. And we at CBN have been sort of running to stay ahead of the Lord, because He is way ahead of us, way ahead of us. But keep in mind, you can't get set in your ways. Always be ready for change, the good kind of change that comes from the Spirit of God. That was really good. The only regret I have is that I didn't have my notepad and my pen. That was really good. Well, I know. You know what was so awesome about it? If you like that segment as much as I love that segment, listen, we're going to bring you so many more segments of The Secret Kingdom in the weeks to come. If you want to check this very one out or the previous ones or the upcoming ones, all you have to do is just log on to CBN.com. You'll be able to find it and then there's even a little icon you can click on that says "Share it with your friends." And there are also little icons on there where you could even print it out in the written form. There are so many things you can do, But that really ministered to me on so many levels. Yes. I was thinking about the law of fidelity and about how you have to be excellent in the small—not excellent in the small things before the Lord can be faithful, and the small things before the Lord can give the big things. And that's how my parents always taught us. Truths. Eternal truths that resonate in every culture and every situation, because they're eternal and they're from God. And people, immediately they hear them, they say, "Yes, that's right." So anyhow, The Secret Kingdom, ladies and gentlemen. Yes. That was good. All right. I'm going to stop, because I wanted to chat about, but it we won't chat. You go to the next story. All right. Well, Jack and Pam Hawver have been practicing the principles of The Secret Kingdom for more than 30 years. Not long ago, they relied on one of those principles to help them sell their house. Watch what happened. Selling a home isn't easy these days, but Jack and Pam Hawver were able to do it rather quickly. The reason, they say, goes back to 1978, when they made an important decision while watching The 700 Club. We were not doing very well financially. We were just like hanging on every month. They decided to start giving away 10 percent of their income. The first month that we did that, we had an extra 200 dollars in our checking account we could not account for, and we went, "Wow!" And He has blessed us from that point on. But the Hawver's faith was challenged when Jack retired and became a contractor. Despite the financial uncertainty, the couple continued to give away 10 percent of their income. I just became a believer in the tithe. And I really didn't have fear. I just knew it was going to pop up. The next job would be there. We just never worried about it, never had fear of being in a financial crisis. In 2009, they knew they needed to sell their home to become debt free. They say it was God who helped them sell quickly in a rough housing market. Financially it is wonderful. Now we have money in the bank that we can invest and do things with, and it's not tied up in a house. So that's exciting. Now the Hawvers are debt free and enjoying life in their new condo. I was taught by Pat that that 10 percent, if you keep it, it is still not going to bless you or do anything for you. You want to tithe, because then that blesses the rest of the finances. Just because God said to do it, and we're supposed to be obedient to what He says. Jesus said it. One more principle. Give and it will be given unto you. Pressed down, good measure, running over will men heap into your bosom. And that's what's happened to the Hawvers. We have something for those of you who join the 700 Club. We're just asking 65 cents a day. It's about 50 percent of what it costs to buy a bottle of coke, of pop. Not even. Not even. Well, 65. Well, it's a dollar. Well, it depends on, sometimes it will be—well, but anyhow. A $1.30 or something. In any event, we have something we want to give you called Life Beyond the Grave. This series got a lot of attention. People who have died and come back. They've gone to even Heaven or Hell and come back to tell us about it. Fabulous, fabulous stories. And if you join the 700 Club, we'll send that to you as our gift, and we hope it will be a blessing: 1-800-759-0700. Why don't you call us and say, "You can count on me?" Let's move into the power of the secret Kingdom. All right. Absolutely. The power of change, where God is the same, but He uses technology. You can always log on to CBN.com as well. In his new DVD, Life Beyond the Grave, Pat Robertson introduces you to real people with remarkable stories of Heaven and riveting accounts of Hell. Life Beyond the Grave will build your faith as God's promises come alive, prepare you to face your eternity, and provide you with a powerful witnessing tool to share with your loved ones. I want you to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that your destiny is sealed forever in Heaven. All right. I think we're going to jump in real quick with some of your e-mail questions. Are you ready? I'll let you know. Let's go. Let me have the questions, then I'll let you know. All right, here we go. "Would you please explain the discerning of spirits? Does a person who has these gifts actually see spirits?" That's from Barbara. Barbara, it can be. Or the Lord will use the word of knowledge along with the discerning of spirits. The Lord has spoken to me from time to time as I prayed that a particular thing was involved. He told me that in India that these people were gripped by a spirit of fear. Well, I didn't see any spirit of fear, but there was a whole mob of people who got set free in this meeting, because the Lord had spoken to me. Well, that's like the word of knowledge combined with discerning spirits. But yes, there are instances where you see it. Remember Jesus talked to Nathaniel and said, "I saw you under the fig tree." And He said, "Behold, an Israelite in whom there is no guile." We have human spirits. There are angel spirits, demonic spirits. So the gift of discerning spirits is not seeing demons. It isn't necessarily seeing angels. But it's seeing beyond the invisible world. And there is a barrier. But behind this is this invisible world. And discerning spirits gives the ability to see beyond. And sometimes it's see with eyes. Sometimes it's see with the understanding. But however the Lord wants to do it. And I've heard of one person who was given this enablement, and she began to see the awful spirits that were behind people. And it was so bad, she said, "God, take this thing away. I can't stand it anymore." It was frightening. Okay. It is. And sometimes the spirits, the spirit of discernment, it's very subtle. Like, have you ever been with someone, and you're like, "Something is not right." You don't know what it is, but you just know something is not right. That's part of it, too. But that's not discerning spirits. That's different. Is it? No, it's not. But go ahead. All right. My bad. That's just discernment, period. All right. Go on. Okay. All right, Melissa writes and says, "What is the difference between a dream and a vision?" That's a good question. Well, a vision can be while you're awake. A dream is always while you're asleep. So they can be the same kind of thing, except a vision, you're awake, and you see this thing. All right. That's easy enough. All right, question number three. "Pat, you said that some of us have psychic powers. I always associated that with the occult. What do you mean? Explain the difference." Well, the word psuche in Greek is the word we call "soul." And so Paul says the psuchekos man, the "soulish" man, receives not the things of the Spirit of God, for they're spiritually discerned. But there are people who have their souls at a higher power, and that's the psychic thing. So it isn't necessarily bad or good, but when you go into so-called psychic, as you understand it in today's world, it's always involved with the occult. But it doesn't have to be. Somebody can have this enablement by God, and it's not necessarily used for demonic activity. Interesting. All right. We're going to jump to the next one. All right. Quick. All right, quick. "Can angels look like humans or do they always have wings and wear white?" Oh, sure they look like humans. And the Bible says we entertain angels unaware. So the answer is yes, they can come as humans. Listen, I could be an angel right now. You don't know it, Pat. You don't know it. I thought you were a wild catter. Now you've become an angel. All right. Tomorrow, an astonishing revelation from a tremendous guy, John Tesh, you won't see anywhere else. Today, we leave you with these words from the Psalms . . . . . . . . "Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made Heaven and earth." God bless all of you. See you later. Bye, bye. Here at CBN, we see amazing things happen when we stand together.
