Well, welcome to The 700 Club. America has scored a major victory on the war on terror with the death of Osama bin Laden. Here is Jennifer Wishon to report on the mission that took out bin Laden and the celebrations in the United States.
The news that Osama bin Laden's body was in US custody sent Americans to the streets in patriotic celebration. Crowds gathered outside the White House even before President Obama could announce the news.
USA! USA! USA!
Similar scenes in Times Square and on street corners in California.
We beat them at their own game. We didn't give up.
After years of advanced intelligence gathering, officials found bin Laden's hideout, not a cave, but a massive fortified compound in an affluent Pakistani neighborhood. And on Friday, President Obama authorized a covert operation to take bin Laden out.
And on nights like this one, we can say to those families who have lost loved ones to al Qaeda's terror: justice has been done.
An elite Navy SEAL unit flew four helicopters to the compound. Bin Laden was killed in a firefight, shot in the head.
After a firefight they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body.
White House officials say bin Laden's remains were handled in accordance with Islamic tradition. He was then buried at sea. Two other males were also killed in the operation, along with a female one of the men used as a human shield. Bin Laden's compound was fortified with 12- to 18-foot walls topped with barbed wire, but had no telephone or Internet service. He lived there with two of his most trusted men who took extraordinary security precautions, including burning their trash. In many ways, bin Laden was hiding in plain sight in the town of Abbottabad, home to three Pakistani military regiments and a military academy, raising questions about whether Pakistani officials knew the whereabouts of the world's most wanted man.
Not only were they about 800 meters from a military academy, but the neighborhood that this house was in is populated mostly by retired military officers. And I think it's going to be pretty hard for them to try and convince anybody that they didn't know he was there, and this may very well strain relations with Pakistan a little bit more.
Officials warn al Qaeda will now seek revenge. Interrogators say that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed told them at Guantanamo Bay, that if bin Laden was ever captured or killed, that al Qaeda would detonate a nuclear weapon in Europe. With that said, senior White House officials tell CBN News, they have received no specific threats; however, they warn Americans should, as always, be vigilant. Pat.
Thanks, Jennifer. Jennifer Wishon at the White House. With us now is our CBN News Terrorism Analyst Erick Stakelbeck. He's written a new book, by the way, very popular, called The Terrorist Next Door. You don't want to miss it. You can get a copy of it. Erick, what are they planning? Do you think they've got a nuke in Europe to blow up in retaliation?
Pat, that's the word on the street. We know for years al Qaeda has been working feverishly to acquire nuclear weapons, to acquire a dirty bomb, biological weapons, chemical weapons. Right now, do they have a device in Europe? I personally think, Pat, that they would have used it by now. That's my personal opinion. We know that they're trying feverishly to acquire them. And as we see with bin Laden's death there, he was living in a mansion in a massive compound just a block from a Pakistani military center.
It looks like the Pakistanis are playing both sides of the street. They apparently are favoring the Taliban. They're against the United States. What's the deal? We're giving them a lot of money.
Pat, that's the name of the game, 1.4 billion dollars per year to the Pakistani military. They've been playing both sides of the game for years now. They had to know he was there. Look, this facility, this massive compound, three stories high, a million dollar compound that bin Laden was living in. As I said, it was just one block from a massive Pakistani military center. It was 35 miles from the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, and it was built, Pat, in the last five years. The Pakistani government, the Pakistani military, Pakistani intelligence had to know it was there. And I think they've seen a lot of pressure from the US in recent weeks, and the Pakistanis finally said, "Look, we'd better cough him up and do something to get back on the US's good side."
So you think they let this operation go forward then?
I think they did, Pat.
Yes.
Because I think the pressure had been ramped up so much by the US in recent weeks. Pakistan, really, it was a sink or swim moment. It was the moment of truth for the Pakistanis. The drone strikes were increasing. They don't like the drone strikes on their territory. They're thought, Pat, is now that bin Laden is dead, the Pakistani government is thinking, "Good, the US will stop with the drone missile strikes. Perhaps the US will withdraw from Afghanistan." I don't see that happening, but that's what the Pakistanis are hoping.
You've talked to some associates of bin Laden. What's the back story on this thing?
Pat, I spoke to a guy in London, or as we like to call it, Londonistan, a guy by the name of Noman Benotman. Interestingly enough, Pat, he was a Libyan. This was a guy who spent time with Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri just one year before 9/11. He was called to Afghanistan for a terror meeting with bin Laden himself. And Benotman told me, "Look, this is a guy, is bin Laden, who relishes killing innocent civilians." He could go on and on talking about the death of American women and children. This was what he lived for. He was a truly demonic force. It's good to see him go. But he was all about killing civilians. This associate of bin Laden, who I spoke to face to face, Pat, told me civilians do not exist in bin Laden's world.
Their all combatants, every one.
All combatants, every last one.
Well, what about al-Zawahiri. Is he serious? Will he pick up the reins?
I have a great quote for you, Pat, from this jihadi we're talking about, Noman Benotman, he was an associate of bin Laden. He was also a close associate of Zawahiri. He told me Ayman Zawahiri, who most likely now will take the place of Osama bin Laden as the leader of al Qaeda, he told that me that Zawahiri is much more extreme even than bin Laden, is the most extreme member of al Qaeda. So that's what we're looking at now possibly coming to power post bin Laden.
Do we know where he is?
Zawahiri. Well, Pat, all bets are off. Now we found out bin Laden was living in a mansion right outside of Islamabad. I would have told you a few months ago, Pat, that Zawahiri was hidden in the tribal regions of Pakistan. For all we know he has a villa in the heart of Islamabad.
Either that or living in Paris. All right, what are we going to do next? This is a coup for the—the Seal Team Six did this deal under the auspices of the CIA. Does this make all our intelligence services look good, do you think?
I think in this situation it does, Pat. But, look, I hate to rain on everyone's parade. This is a great day for America. But let's keep things in perspective. Al Qaeda is much larger than Osama bin Laden. And as I've discussed in my book, al Qaeda has shifted tactics to something I call, Pat, the "chip away" strategy. Time Square. Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of the attempted Time Square bombing. Fort Hood, the underwear bomber, Mumbai; this is the new blueprint for al Qaeda: smaller scale, inexpensive attacks, carried out really by lone wolves. That is the new blueprint for al Qaeda. In the meantime, Pat, as we said, they're trying to acquire nuclear weapons. They're trying to carry out massive attacks that could top 9/11. But in the meantime, al Qaeda's leadership has given their blessing to these smaller-scale attacks. And I think, Pat, we're going to see a lot of them. I think we're going to see some retaliatory strikes here by the global jihadists.
Well, what about the Arab world? This is the last question. Do they admire America because we're now strong, or they hate America because we killed one of their heroes?
I would say it's the latter, Pat, keeping in mind that the Arab world only respects strength. They respect the strong horse. Bin Laden is dead, but let's not forget, Iran is the vanguard of the global jihad. Iran is about acquiring nuclear weapons. Iran has proxies in Hezbollah, in Hamas. Iran is the most dangerous force in the world when it comes to this global jihad, not al Qaeda. Iran is a state sponsor, a state actor. I have to say, Pat, I think Iran is happy secretly about bin Laden's death, because now it leaves the Iranians as the undisputed leaders of the global jihad.
Erick, I appreciate this. And ladies and gentlemen, his book—it's released now. It's out in the bookstores?
Today is the launch, Pat.
Today is the launch, The Terrorist Next Door. You want to see it and read it. Erick Stakelbeck.
It's going to be a bestseller if it's not already. And it's available where books are sold. Erick's with us. I appreciate you. Thank you.
Thank you, Pat.
All right. Terry, what's next?
Well, coming up, just days after a tornado ripped through the deep south, a community trying to rebuild gets some big help.
And then later, it's the 400th anniversary of one of the most influential books in history.
See how it changed your life, whether you've read it or not.
Got a question for Pat? Send us yours now on CBN.com. We'll Bring It Online with your questions from our live chat room, later on today's 700 Club.
Do you have money to burn? If not, you need to know that the paper dollars you've invested your life savings in are being consumed right now in a growing blaze of inflation and declining value. Economists know why the dollar is burning and at risk of crashing. It's because politicians and central bankers keep printing them, and this makes the dollars you've worked so hard to for, worth less and less. The politicians and bankers hated the gold standard, because it forced them to be honest. That's why the US dollar keeps losing value and could soon crash. The good news is that you can create your own personal gold standard and keep your savings protected when the dollar crashes. Call or visit online now. Model Rachel Lee Carter shows you how to express yourself without exposing yourself. Tomorrow on The 700 Club.
Welcome back to The 700 Club. The death of Osama bin Laden is being met with elation on a number of fronts. Retired Lieutenant General Jerry Boykin is former commander of the Delta Force and former head of the Pentagon's Special Operations Command. I spoke to him by phone earlier and asked him to give us some insight into how difficult this operation was to carry out.
Well, this mission obviously was executed with extraordinary precision, not to mention courage. But this is also a high risk operation, particularly without Pakistani support. You're going in not only against Osama bin Laden's security forces, but you're also going up against Pakistanis potentially, given that they don't know you're coming and they're not sure exactly what your intentions are. They're a potential threat as well. So I think that this was just an extraordinary operation. No Americans hurt. We lost one helicopter. And we got Osama bin Laden without any casualties on the civilian side. I think that's extraordinary. Al Qaeda is still out there. They are adhering to a 1,400-year-old theology. And they are at this point, they are so franchised and so segmented that the death of bin Laden is a setback for them. But it is by no means the end of al Qaeda.
And General Boykin told me that's his greatest fear now, that Americans will call this the end game. Unfortunately, he says it's not. But Pat, this is a proud day for our entire US military, but particularly here in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. The team that carried this out was Seal Team Six, as you mentioned earlier. It is the best of the best. It's a super secretive clandestine operation that's based right here in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Well, we've had the privilege of having on our security team a number of ex members of Seal Team Six. And they are a proud, extraordinary outfit. And so we salute them, as Lee said, the best of the best.
And in other news today, gold may be on its way to 2,000 dollars, possibly as soon as this year. One gold producer tells Bloomberg News that China wants to build up its gold reserves so that it has more than the US. He says Russia wants to do the same. He believes gold will hit 5,000 dollars in three to four years.
Many analysts are looking for correction, though, in silver. It hit 50 dollars last week, but some experts think it will drop as low as 35 dollars in the short term. They still expect it to rise in the years ahead, though, possibly to 100 dollars or more.
Since 1995, the American Academy of Dermatology has designated the first Monday of May as Melanoma Monday. One person dies of that horrible disease every hour, but it is preventable if a suspicious mole is identified early. Medical reporter Lorie Johnson shows us what to look for.
Get to the doctor right away if you have a mole resembling any of the A, B, C, D, E's of skin cancer: moles that are asymmetrical, borders are uneven, color varies within the mole, diameter larger than a pencil eraser, or it evolves, changes in any way.
Before they grow deeper, that's the ones that are completely curable. Once they grow deeper, they penetrate first into the deeper layers of the skin. Then they usually go to the lymph nodes in the area of the body where the original lesion was. And then after a period of time they can go to other organs, in fact almost any body organs, and that's usually unfortunately what causes the demise of the patient.
More and more people get melanoma every year, especially young white females, which may not surprise you when you consider melanoma is caused by ultraviolet radiation, like from sun tanning outside, or, even worse, in tanning beds. You're 75 percent more likely to get melanoma if you use tanning beds. But despite that warning, a new survey shows more than a third of white, teen girls and young women used one in the last year. One-fourth used one every week. And 81 percent reported tanning outside. Lorie Johnson, CBN News.
Many of the survivors of those devastating tornadoes that tore through the south last week spent Sunday giving thanks to God for their survival.
I can see the end results, and I know it's going to be awesome. And I just have faith that God is going to bring us all through with flying colors. Everybody is going to be okay.
Amazing sight. As you can see, there were many churches that were flattened by the storms. But deep Christian faith is woven into the very fabric of Alabama and the entire Deep South. And survivors still gathered outdoors to turn their focus to God.
This was the second deadliest tornado related tragedy in US history. Survivors are left with the near impossible task now of rebuilding their lives, and they're getting help from Operation Blessing.
All I seen was a big ole puff of white cloud coming down the road, and I just did make it in the house before it took my front porch off. By the time I got to the kitchen, and looked out the window, my neighbor's house was gone.
The largest and most powerful tornadoes on record ripped through seven states, killing nearly 350 people. Alabama was hit the worst. Pratt City and Pleasant Grove, areas of Birmingham, were devastated.
Me and my mama was in a huddle, covering the kids. One of the scriptures my mom was quoting was the 23rd Psalm, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." My mom kept saying we were covered by the blood of Jesus. Nothing was going to hurt us at all. We made it out just in time, because we weren't even out two minutes before the floor fell in.
Hundreds fled to their basements for protection, but the category five tornado ripped them to shreds. Local, state, and federal authorities responded quickly, and search and rescue missions continue.
We connected with local emergency management and said, "What is your greatest need, and how can we meet that need?" They said, "Jody, if you could serve hot meals, we still have search and rescue teams going and first responders, and they need hot meals." So we've been shuttling hot meals to about five different communities. We served over 2,600 meals yesterday.
It's awful. This was actually a tragedy and if it wasn't for Operation Blessing coming out with hot meals, cold water, we would actually be in bad trouble. We needed assistance right then. They came right in without hesitation and assisted people in the community. This was thousands and thousands of people that needed this help.
Operation Blessing's base camp was set up at Westwood Baptist Church, where Steve Potts is the pastor.
We got a call saying would we be interested in being a staging area for Operation Blessing, and that was a no-brainer, with some people who know what they're doing that do this on a consistent basis, that have the expertise of contacting local officials, setting up all of the ground work, and being able to hit the ground running.
Many volunteers from Westwood Baptist served food with Operation Blessing.
They're still in search and rescue mode. So tomorrow, we'll begin to use our heavy equipment to begin the clean-up phase of helping homeowners begin to remove rubble and debris out from their homes. While we see devastating times and disasters, what's so rewarding for Operation Blessing is to come in to offer hope and encouragement and help them see that they can rebuild, that they can live, they can start their life over.
Pat, I was struck by something that I heard Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour say last week after he toured the damage in his state. He was struck by the fact that there were very few people in the shelters. He said it was an amazing testimony of neighbors helping neighbors. If someone lost their home, they said, "You come live with us." And I think it's just a real testimony to the Christian character and compassion that exists down there.
Well, Lee, I think the fact that they're praising Jesus after all that loss, "How I love Jesus," they're not saying, "God, why did you let it happen to me? Oh, woe is me." They're saying, "God is with us. We're going to rebuild. We've lost some of these things, but we have minimal loss of life."
But this is a terrible, terrible natural disaster. It's extraordinary. So if we can do something with Operation Blessing to help, we've got some heavy equipment in there that's going to start, as Jody said, we're going to start the rebuilding phase. But right now they needed food. So we know how to serve food. We've got field kitchens. We can put the food to them. So if you want to help, it's Disaster Relief Fund, CBN Center, Virginia Beach, Virginia, 23463. And we've got a check for 100,000 dollars for another ministry, a dear, dear friend who loves the Lord and is very compassionate about the needs of the hurting people. So there is a lot to do. And we're so glad we could be there to help. We're not glad the tragedy took place. That's terrible. But if we can be there and be the hand of God extended, it means that our life is being used for something significant. Terry. Well, it touches us all to see that kind of faith. And they will rebuild. Well, it may seem basic, a Bible printed in the English language using the original Greek and Hebrew scriptures.
Yet that idea was so revolutionary it cost one man his life. Hear the story behind the King James Bible, when we come back.
Coming up later . . . .

It's an amazing book. It's a miracle book. It's the bestselling book of all time. And today, it turns 400 years old. The King James Bible was first published on May 2, 1611. Gordon looks at the people and events that inspired the most widely read Bible in history.
At the start of the 16th century, only one version of the Bible was allowed in England: the Latin Vulgate. But in 1526, a man named William Tyndale defied both the King and the Pope and published a new English translation of the New Testament, the first one ever to use the original Greek sources. He had translated about half the Old Testament from Hebrew when he was arrested and sentenced to death. In 1536, Tyndale was burned at the stake, but even in the midst of the fire, he died with a prayer on his lips.
Lord, open the king of England's eyes!
William Tyndale's prayer was answered almost 80 years later when a new king took the throne and commissioned an English Bible that would become the greatest book of all time and change the English language forever. In 1603, Queen Elizabeth died, leaving the British throne to her second cousin James, the King of Scotland. For the new king, expectations were high. James needed to find a way to step out of Elizabeth's shadow and make his own mark and he found it in a most unlikely place. When James took the throne, the Church of England was plagued by controversy and corruption, so in 1604 . . . .
. . . . he called a meeting with the bickering church leaders, both the Anglican bishops and the puritans who wanted to reform them. The Hampton Court Conference was supposed to unify the church, but with everyone competing for the new king's attention, the meeting turned into chaos.
Do you have any other worthy requests? And I mean truly worthy of my attention?
Much of the fighting was focused on England's two Bibles. The puritans favored the Geneva translation. It was the most popular Bible in England, but it was full of marginal notes that criticized the church and the crown. In response, the bishops published their own Bible, an inferior translation mandated for use in the Church of England. James didn't care for either Bible, so puritan leader John Reynolds made a suggestion.
There should be one translation of the Bible to be authenticated and read in the churches.
There is a Bible.
Hated by all the people and the work of dunces.
The bishops Bible.
Unacceptable to these worthy scholars. Go on.
One version to be read through the land, unifying our worship.
We will have a new translation, and you, humble servants of Almighty God, will all work together.
The translation took seven years and brought together 47 of England's best Greek and Hebrew scholars. More than 80 percent of their work was based on the work of William Tyndale who had given his life for the Bible 75 years earlier. The result was the most accurate translation in England's history.
One marvels at how a project by committee can sing with the same voice, with the same sense of diction, clarity, and eloquence.
On May 2, 1611, the King James Bible was printed. And for the first time, the English people had the same Bible both at church and at home.
There's no question that the King James Version literally shaped the English language. To this day we have 257 idioms that come out of the King James.
Among them, sour grapes, a fly in the ointment, and a wolf in sheep's clothing. Plus, have you ever seen eye to eye with someone, wondered whether a leopard can change his spots, or escape by the skin of your teeth? All of these phrases came from the King James Bible.
The impact of King James is dramatic. The rhetoric, the poetry, the prose, the syntax, all so high that it remains the standard for English language.
That's a revolutionary document. And it has shaped western culture.
King James never lived to see the worldwide success of the Bible he commissioned. The rest of his reign was marked by scandal and political turmoil. Just 14 years later, he died, but James left a legacy that reached far beyond the British Isles. Since 1611, the Bible has gone around the world in more than four thousand languages. But the task of translation is not complete. More than 300 million people, speaking over two thousand languages still don't have a Bible. As we celebrate the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible, let us pray that all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues can have a Bible . . . .
. . . . to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light.
It's amazing what one monarch can do. But one Godly man, William Tyndale, was the one whose Bible was most widely used; and he was killed for his work. It's astounding!
But the sacrifice that he made. So often we don't see the result or the benefit from a sacrifice that doesn't happen until years later.
The thing of it is about our culture is as was pointed out, you cannot understand the English language, you cannot understand the idioms of our culture unless you understand the Bible. I was just reading today in Job, "I escaped by the skin of my teeth." I read the footnotes that that means "gums." Whatever. But that kind of thing is there, an eye for an eye.
It's a remarkable history, really.
Oh, amazing!
And as they said, a remarkable endeavor to have been done by committee and have come out with such unity and poise. It's amazing.
Well, it was done by committee, but based on a standard done by one man.
Yes.
Who died for it. Anyhow, ladies and gentlemen, it's a precious treasure, and we salute those who participated. And we give honor to King James for the work that he did.

Hello, I'm Terry Meeuwsen. Did you know there are more than 148 million orphans in the world today? 148 million. But it was three little girls that taught me about the plight of orphans. Eight years ago my husband and I spent nearly a month immersed in the daily activities of an Ukrainian orphanage as we waited to adopt three sisters. I saw firsthand the utter loneliness, the pain of rejection and the overwhelming desire to be loved. That experience changed me forever, and out of it grew a ministry from my heart called Orphan's Promise.
Today we're helping orphans and vulnerable children in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Thousands of children are now in safe homes. They're being educated and they're learning life skills. I'm asking you to join with me and become family to these children. Will you call the number on your screen right now, because every child deserves a chance to be happy?

Thanks so much. You've been dubbed the Stiletto Chef. Where does that come from?
Right. And I'm wearing my flats today, which is the funny part. But you know what, when I was in culinary school, I had to pay my dues by modeling, which everybody teased me for wearing heels during modeling sessions and then my chef's clogs at class. And so it kind of became this cute nickname, and now it's used for TV purposes.
That was pretty smart.
Right. Right.
And you were able to afford—it is expensive to go to culinary school.
Oh, yes. Oh, yes.
And you kind of have to, to do what you're doing today. But you have now in this role that you're in coined the phrase "food with benefits." Talk about that.
Absolutely. Well, I came to the finding that most people were confused with how to eat healthy. And I thought, "Well, if everything that you consume will benefit your body in one way or another, then that's a food with benefits."
Yes.
So there's an arsenal of them in the book as well.
I want to talk about, you talk about eating healthy and affordably. And you've got some ways that you discuss doing that. One of them is making your dressing.
Right. You've got to make all your own marinades, sauces, and dressings. Your pantry is full of olive oils, vinegars, sea salts. Then you have mustards, mayos. You can make hundreds of different varieties, save all the calories, save the preservatives, save the sugar, and save cash.
You've got some hummus over here. We love hummus at our house, and it's expensive to buy it ready made.
It is.
But you've done this on your own.
Right. And then sometimes there's actually extra fat in there that you don't necessarily want. So making it on your own controls that.
And this is a barbecue sauce of some kind.
Right. This is a skinny-cue sauce that you make right out of the pantry at home. And it's perfect for dipping some sweet potato fries in.
And you say we can afford fish.
Absolutely. Well, people think fish is really expensive, which it is. So if you can't afford it, then go ahead and buy canned salmon, canned tuna, canned mackerel, even sardines. They're full of omega-3 fatty acids and they're moderately priced.
And you say that we can actually boost meat in our diets, which a lot of us eat with veggies, use of veggies. What do you mean?
Right. Well, what I mean is if you buy a pound of ground beef, but you have to feed a family of four, why not sauté off some mushrooms, onions, and peppers and then incorporate the meat in, save calories, save money.
Expanding the volume.
Absolutely. And add nutrients.
And then you say rethink your plate. What do you mean by that?
So we're inclined to think what? One big hunk of steak, right, and a small portion of veggies and a little starch. But I'm thinking that you should put just a small portion of meat on there, a lot of vegetables, and maybe put half of the plate in vegetables this time, and a little bit of grains.
Which is also more economical.
Absolutely. You're going to save money and calories again.
And I love the fact that you say don't let leftovers go to waste. I know so many people who refuse to eat leftovers at my house. It's meal number two and three.
I do, too. One of my best friends, Andi, is not a fan of leftovers. It always drove me nuts. You may as well be throwing away your hard earned cash. You can rethink burritos, chilis, soups, stews, casseroles, omelets.
But you kind of have to have a plan ahead of time for that. You have to know that you've got this option to do that.
Well, that is what the book is for, right? Perfect. Yes. Exactly.
Let's talk about what we're going to make here today. You've got wonderful—I wish you could smell what's happening here, because it's really, really wonderful.
Okay. Well, we're going to make easy-peasy chicken peanut noodles. Now, contrary to popular belief, Asian food really is high in fat and it's something you can actually be making at home and controlling the calories.
Even controlling some of the salt, too.
Absolutely. And the MSG that's in there. This is a roasted sesame oil. So we're just going to put that in the pan.
That's wonderful.
It's robust, and it's got this great nutty essence. And then I'm going to have you help me, Miss Terry. We're going to do garlic and onion. Or that's actually, sorry, garlic and ginger in there.
Can I use my hand?
Or we can just—I'll help you.
See, at home I just would have my finger right in there.
Don't worry. Myself as well. And then is some fresh ginger. And then automatically you're going to smell the essence coming off of the pan there. We can even bump up that heat so we can get a sizzle. What we're doing is we want to show people how you can actually save a lot of money by making your food and then prepackaging it later. It's a breeze when you freeze is another tip.
It's happening. It's happening. Yes.
Okay, great. So sauté that.
Okay, I'm going to stir that.
You've got it. Now, this is the easiest way to make an Asian inspired sauce at home. It takes a couple of smart ingredients. So we have garlic, ginger, sesame oil. Now, of all things, we're going to add peanut butter.
Okay. Peanut butter.
A couple of tablespoons of creamy peanut butter. Perfect.
The best kind.
I know, right?
Down to the last.
Okay, and then we're going to add some honey and some soy sauce. So I'll help you out with this. This guy will be a little bit sticky there. So we've got some honey. So this is the sweetened part of this recipe. A lot of people think, well, what's the point of adding honey to a savory dish? Well, you need a balance of sweet, savory, tangy, salt.
Right. That's what makes it good.
Absolutely. And here comes our salt with the soy sauce. So basically we just made a two second sauce there. And this is a perfect base sauce to our peanut noodles.
Oh, my goodness. That smells heavenly.
Isn't that great? And these were all basics you already have in your kitchen. Right, Terry?
Yes. Yes.
Okay. We can turn the heat down a little bit on this.
What do you want it down to? Like, low? Yes.
Just to a medium there. And the next thing we're going to do now is we're going to start adding in our vegetables. So I've got some beautiful bright, look at that.
That is beautiful.
Red pepper. Well, you've got to eat the colors of the rainbow in order to stay fabulous. And I can tell you do.
I try. I love vegetables. I'm a vegetable girl.
Great. And then we have zucchini in there. And then we also have mushrooms. Now these are shitake mushrooms. You can really use any kind of mushrooms. It doesn't have to be shitakes. And honestly, you can actually use any kind of vegetables, too.
Okay. Whatever your pleasure is.
Yes, whatever you're feeling or whatever is in the fridge.
Okay. So the shitakes go in.
Right. And you want to get some great color on these. You want to cook them for typically about I'd say five to eight minutes or so. And then eventually we've got some chicken we cooked up earlier. So that chicken goes in. Slice that up.
So really the biggest part of this is the prep time and just being ready, chopping and having your ingredients there.
Right. And that's all you're going to need. And then eventually all we need is some whole wheat spaghetti, too. We don't need to go crazy on Asian noodles. People always think, "Oh, I need to go buy that." No, no, no, no. Not at all. This is whole wheat spaghetti. You coat it in the Asian sauce. So we marry those two, and then we're going to come out with this.
Oh, it looks so good.
Right here. Oh, it's fantastic. Oh, we forgot our chili flakes, too. We can add some of that in for a little bit of heat.
Oh, yes. We'll have to stir those in.
Yes, we don't want to heat up anybody too hot there. And then really, when we're all done and say you've got some leftovers, the easiest thing to do is to go ahead and just take all your noodles . . . .
There are so many great containers for that available now.
I know.
It's really a breeze, isn't it?
It is. It's a breeze when you freeze. What was that, tip number six?
That's exactly right. That's exactly right.
And I say leftovers are great, because guess what? They're marinating in there for a while. You cover that up and store it.
And sometimes the flavor is actually better the second time around.
That's what I was saying, too. I completely agree.

Millions of people around the world suffer from cataracts. In Indonesia, we found one child who was born with them, and she was about to go blind.
Like any mom, Dessy was worried. Her baby daughter was developing a white film on the pupil of her left eye, and Dessy didn't know what it was.
My daughter can't talk yet. I was pretty sure she was going blind, and I didn't want that to happen.
Unfortunately, Dessy's husband only makes about 100 dollars a month as a laborer. That meant they had to save a long time just to take their daughter to be checked at the hospital.
The doctor told us she had a cataract since birth. And I was told that she needed surgery immediately or she would go blind.
But the couple had already spent all of their money for the checkup. There was nothing left for the surgery.
I didn't want my daughter to go blind. I was so afraid. Her eye is so vital to her future.
That's when a neighbor told Dessy about Operation Blessing.
She gave me a number for Operation Blessing, so I called to see if they could help.
Operation Blessing came to Dessy's home and took mother and baby back to the hospital. There an eye surgeon performed the delicate operation to replace the lens in the baby's eye. In fact, that replacement lens will provide the baby with 20/20 vision throughout her life. For Dessy, that means no more worries about her daughter's eyesight.
Thanks to Operation Blessing for providing surgery for my daughter. Many thanks to you all.
Dessy didn't not only know how to help her daughter, she didn't even know what was wrong with her daughter's eye.
She just had that compassionate mother's heart that says, "I don't want my child to go blind if this is a big problem." And it was a big problem. It was a problem they couldn't solve, but you made it possible for us to bring an answer into the midst of that chaos and lostness. We do that every day in the lives of thousands of people around the world, and we're able to do it because of 700 Club members, people like you who say, "I know I can make a difference, and I am going to make a difference." It's one thing to feel compassion for someone. It's another to say, "I'm going to be a part of the solution." That's what we're asking you to do today. Will you go to your phone right now and join with the rest of us? Just say, "I want to be a 700 Club member." It's a commitment of 65 cents a day, 20 dollars a month. But when we all link arms together we really can touch and change lives all around the world. So help us to do that. We're also bringing them the knowledge of the love of Jesus Christ. And we'd love for you to be a part of that. If you'll call right now, you can know that this moment you begin to change the world. And our way of saying thank you for caring about others is to send you The Law of Expectation.
This is actually two teachings, one by Pat, one by Gordon. We believe it will really touch your own walk with the Lord, and it will be a blessing to you. So call right now. And by the way, you can also give by logging on to CBN.com. But do something right now.
Want to answer some e-mail?
I guess that's why I'm here. This is the time.
Okay, these are online questions from our chat room.
Let's go. Let's go.
This is Josh, who says, "Should Christians rejoice over the death of Osama bin Laden?"
I saw the celebrations, and I thought it was unseemly. And I think all it's going to do is trigger a response in the Arab world of people who say, "Well, let's avenge ourselves on this killer," and it will be a cycle of violence. I don't think we should rejoice over the death of our adversary. The Bible says, "when he stumbles, don't you rejoice, "or the Lord will lift His hand from him. I think the thing to do is say, "God, it's in your hand." And we don't know. Sure, this guy wanted to kill us. Sure, he was an enemy. But at the same time, I don't think we should rejoice over the death of our enemies. So you asked me and I'm telling you. What else?
This is Randolph, who says, "On Friday, you said that Jamestown was the first, quote, ‘permanent settlement in America.' But what about Spanish settlers? Didn't they establish the first permanent settlement in what is now St. Augustine?"
I should have said permanent English settlement. I stand corrected. It's the first permanent English settlement.
English.
Yes.
Okay. Gary wants to know, "How is Blue?"
Blue! Blue has almost 500 people on Facebook.
He might be the most popular dog in America.
Where is he? He's here someplace.
He's coming.
Blue, come over here. Where are you?
Hey, Blue.
Come, Blue.
Come here, buddy.
Come, Blue. Turn him loose. Blue, come on. Here you go, buddy. Hey, babe. Here's Blue. He's growing bigger and bigger.
You are growing bigger. You want to shake hands, or drink my coffee?
He'll do anything you say. Hey, baby.
He is a beauty, Pat. He's a such a sweet dog.
Isn't he lovely. All right. Sit down. Behave yourself.
He says, "At last I get to come and be part of this again."
This is Blue. Five hundred. Oh, he's going to lie down for me now. Stay around. Be still.
Because it's such a slick floor.
What's the matter? You want to kiss me? Yes, you sweet thing. Ah, you're such a sweet dog.
He's getting big, Pat.
You wait until he's really full grown. He's just a puppy now.
Unbelievable.
He's going on seven months.
He's going on seven months?
Oh, what do you want? You see somebody? He sees a guy taking his picture. He says, "I want to get in."
You are a pretty boy.
Isn't he pretty?
Yes. Yes.
All right. His highlight was when he called on the first dog to give his birth certificate. He said he's a Portuguese dog and I want to know if he's . . . .
That's right. You like that, puppy? Yes.
Yes. Isn't he sweet?
You're such a good boy.
Look at him.
You are such a good boy.
He likes girls more than he does boys. He doesn't like me very much.
Well, that's understandable, Blue. I think you have good taste.
Look how big he is.
You are gorgeous.
Okay.
Does he write his own stuff.
Oh, man, he's so eloquent you can't believe it.
I just heard that. Brilliant.
All right, go and see Sarah. I'll see you later.
Here's another question, Pat. This is Marie, who asks, "You just had a story on the King James Bible. I find it difficult to read. Should I stick with it or use a different translation?"
They used Elizabethan English. It was very eloquent and very beautiful. It was very easy to remember. But I'm using the NIV which I think is an excellent translation.
I like it, too.
Excellent. Put together by evangelical scholars. The American Standard is a good book. Although it's not accurate verse for verse, the Living Bible is one that's real easy to remember, and it's easy to read. So in today's world, yes, I'd get a more modern one.
It is good for memorizing, though. Okay, this is Larry, who says, "Recently a host on MSNBC said that Jesus was a, quote, ‘socialist.' Is this true?"
I wouldn't believe anything I saw on MSNBC. That thing has turned into a propaganda organ for the left. It is unbelievable. It's like those guys are fed a dose of vitriol before they go on the air. Get them. Hate, hate, hate. It's terrible.
Well, Jesus was someone who really stepped outside the norm of how everybody else did business and saw people in their need and had compassion for them.
But He didn't tell the government to redistribute their money. He didn't. It was one of things where you gave because you love God and it's a voluntary gift, and it may be you gave everything you had. He told one person, He said, "Give everything you've got and come follow Me." But He wasn't a socialist. He wasn't telling the government to do it. It's voluntary. It's a totally different thing to have an oppressive government versus voluntary compassion. And that's what He was advocating. He was speaking to the hearts of people to communicate to the hearts of other people. All right.
This is Kimmy, who wants to know, "Are there any female angels?"
Sorry. No. The ones we've got, Michael, Raphael, and Satan . . . .
Gabriel.
Well, Gabriel. They're all male. And we don't know of any females. My wife at Christmastime, she likes angels. And all these angels have dresses. And I say, "Honey, why are you putting those female angels all over the house?" Well, they're hers and shes; they've got all those dresses on. Can you imagine one of those warriors wearing a dress?
Well, I think robes was the attire.
Yes, but she's got them in dresses. Ah! Okay.
She's stylish.
Well, that's all the time we've got. We appreciate the special appearance on the program by that great dog Blue.
Well, we'll be back actually.
Well, tomorrow a fashion show on The 700 Club. Model Rachel Lee Carter gives a lesson in modesty. Make sure your teenage girls are watching. And we leave with these words from the Psalms . . . .
. . . . "As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him." Well, that's all the time we've got. You can call all day long. We're here for you. We love you. We want your prayer requests if there is any way we can help you: 1-800-759-0700.
And we will see you tomorrow. Bye, bye.
Here at CBN, we see amazing things happen when we stand together.
That's why we want to say thank you to the thousands of you . . . .
. . . . who recently pledged to join the 700 Club.
Your monthly gift makes it possible to bring crucial help to those who need it most.
You help heal the sick, feed the hungry . . . .
. . . . and preach the Gospel across America and throughout the world.
You've brought health and hope to people in desperate need.
And changed their lives forever.
Just like you did for Manage and his friends in Nepal. Ménage invited his Hindu friends to watch CBN programs. And he and 19 of his friends accepted Jesus as their Savior. Then you sent them Bibles. For some this was the first gift they had ever received. Now they're telling others about what Jesus did for them because you gave.
So please watch for this mailing and send in your pledge. This year millions will know . . . .
The love and saving power of Jesus Christ.
And that only happens, because you were there.
