Ending the Financial Fights

CBN.com - Roy and Nancy once had a loving relationship but now it was gone. They had more than twenty thousand dollars charged on credit cards so they fought a lot over money.

“Not having money is very hard, makes people fight, say things they don't mean, do things they don't mean,” says Nancy.

It started when they bought a house and got in over their heads financially. Before long they were putting entire mortgage payments on credit cards .

“I don't think I really addressed it; out of sight, out of mind ,” Nancy recalls. “There was no answer and we knew there was no answer.”

"I was good at ignoring it. Ignore and maybe it will go away," says Roy.

“In the beginning it was very hard. Money was tight. We just had enough money to pay bills. So trying to give extra money to the Lord was a leap of faith. I believed in it, I knew it, but I still had to just do it and not think about it,” says Nancy.

The Tophighs believe God honored their obedience with a financial miracle. Roy says God gave him an idea for a home-based business—designing and selling canvas covers for construction plans... Under Wraps took off!

"The Lord gave me that idea and He's given me the answers as I pursued putting it together. It's possible we'll double what we did last year. And it's grown by leaps and bounds over the past 5-6 years since it's started. The stress of debt has been raised and we have more money than we ever have and we give more than we ever have and I know it's all tied up to that," says Roy.

"Our relationship now is very good. We pray together, give together, it's very nice," Nancy says.
