The Garden of God

Hundreds of orphans now receive food every day because of the generosity of CBN's partners.

Transcript

Every day hundreds of orphans come to Ebenezer Center in South Africa, to get a hot, nutritious meal. For many of them it may be their only meal of the day. Anna Themba runs the center, using money from Operation Blessing to buy the children food. She says as they serve the children, they feel like they are ministering to Christ himself. “That is the thing that God says, ‘I didn’t have food. You gave me food,’” Anna says. “That is the Scripture, and that makes me very happy that we are doing the right thing.” As I walked with Anna around their vegetable garden, she told me about the many ways God has blessed them. “These are children who had nothing,” Anna says, “and now they can eat.“ But Anna doesn’t just want to feed children. Her long-term goal is to make Ebenezer a place orphans can call home. Orphans like Mbogene. “He’s infected with HIV and AIDS,” Anna says. “His mother passed away, and the father passed away. His granny doesn’t even care about him, so that is why I want him to stay here with the other children.” She believes that God has great plans for Mbongene. “I think one day Mbongene will grow up and be a big boy,” she says, “because one day I asked him, ‘What do you want to be?’ and he said, ‘I want to be a pastor.’” As she looks toward the future with patience and confidence in God, Anna is thankful for the way CBN partners have helped her to help these children. “We thank you very much,” Anna says. “And we can say God bless the hand that gives.” When you partner with CBN, you help change the lives of thousands of people just like Anna and the children she cares for.
