The Gift of Independence

Mohammed had to crawl to work each day until Operation Blessing provided him with a special gift.

Transcript

Mohammed was struck by polio when he was just a baby. It left him unable to walk. As he got older, his sister, and the rest of his family, did all they could to help him get by. "It hurts to see Mohammed struggling every day. Even though we are very poor, we did our best to help him make some money," said his sister. Mohammed’s family set up a public telephone booth for him to work at. But every day Mohammed had to crawl to work on the scorching dirt roads. "It was very painful for me to crawl to the phone booth, but I did not have any other choice. If I didn’t go, I wouldn’t have any money to buy food," he recalled. But his life was about to change. Operation Blessing gave Mohammed a special gift—a wheel chair. It was exactly what he needed to gain his independence. "I was really happy when i received the wheel chair. The best thing about having the wheel chair is that I can go to my telephone booth by myself. I want to give my heart felt thanks to the donors." It’s commitment… It’s love… It’s faith that God can do the impossible — that’s helping Operation Blessing change lives. You can be a part of this amazing ministry by partnering with CBN.
