Larry Winnett: The Sudden Miracle

It was about the spring of 1986, and I was working [at] a nursing home where I did laundry. When I came up from bending down, my knee popped out of joint. My leg was locked in an about 45-degree angle, and it was locked there. The pain was horrible. I went to the surgeon, and he specified [that] I had torn a ligament in my left knee. He had to cut open my knee. So it was always tender after that in a certain area. I couldn’t touch it. It would be unbearable. It was steadily getting worse, but the right knee was starting to get even worse, doubling the pain. I was fixing to go to the doctor. There was nothing else I could do. One night I got me something to drink, sat down, and turned my satellite on. I was looking on the menu, and The 700 Club was on. Brother Gordon [Robertson] had started praying, and it wasn’t just 15 seconds and he had a word of knowledge about someone with pain from an injury. I said, “Lord, that’s me.” I just thanked the Lord. “Thank you for healing me. Oh, I just receive it.” I didn’t expect it to happen so suddenly. I was just sitting there, and the Holy Spirit caught my attention. He said that my knees would stop hurting. I said, “They have!” I got up and started moving my knees. I hit that tender area; it didn’t hurt. I started praising God and saying, “You did it. You did it. You healed me. You healed me.” It was an immediate healing. There was no pain afterwards. Before I was using every kind of analgesic balm that I could find. Now I don’t use the analgesic balm ‘cause there’s no pain. I can sleep in any position that I want to. It was just His awesome timing and His love and compassion for me. I just love Him. There are many other things that could be said, but I just want to thank The 700 Club for being there and being used of God.
