'Loving Day': 53 Years Ago, US Supreme Court Struck Down State Bans on Interracial Marriage

Today, June 12 is known as Loving Day, marking the celebration of the day the US Supreme Court struck down states bans against interracial marriage.

The day is named after the interracial couple Richard and Mildred Loving, who was at the center of the case in 1967.

Dr. Antipas Harris, president of the T.D. Jakes School of Divinity, appeared on the Friday afternoon edition of CBN's Newswatch to discuss an increase in interracial marriages over the last 50 years in America and the message that it sends to the world.

Newswatch is seen weekdays on the CBN News Channel. For a programming schedule, click here.
