'Total Disaster': Christian Aid Group Sends Urgent Plea to Trump from Frontlines in Northeast Syria

JERUSALEM, Israel - The US House of Representatives on Tuesday overwhelmingly passed a bill imposing sanctions on Turkey in response to its invasion into northeast Syria.

Turkey invaded northeast Syria about two weeks ago to establish a safe-zone and eliminate Kurdish forces from the area. But a small Christian relief group called the Free Burma Rangers says Turkey is not creating a safe zone but a "genocide zone."

"Over 300,000 people have been displaced in what the Kurds and the Christians call the genocide zone. That's what it is, a zone of death and we're complicit in it," FBR director Dave Eubank told CBN News.

The US stood by as Turkey invaded northeast Syria despite receiving harsh criticism from Kurds, Christians, and other minorities on the ground. Eubank's team is in the crosshairs ground providing relief and helping those who have been seriously injured in the fighting

Eubank sent CBN News a video from the frontlines urging America to do more than impose sanctions. He wants the US to stand next to its Kurdish allies once again like it did not too long ago when American soldiers fought alongside Kurdish soldiers to confront ISIS.

"We can change it. We have to say we're sorry. We have to get reengaged," Eubank said in the video. "We have to stop calling it a safe zone. That's the Turkish talk. This is the zone of invasion, of death, of genocide, ethnic cleansing.

"My appeal is for America to do the right thing morally. To keep our promises, to stand with people, to stop this onslaught, to push the border back along with everyone else to the proper place which is the Turkish-Syrian border," he continued.

FBR and other aid groups will continue to help those affected by Turkey's invasion, but Eubank is praying the US will do more.
