REDEEMING THE TIME

Knowing that God is the Great Redeemer is such a wonderful promise, Troy says. If we love God and are connected to His divine purposes, then all things work out for good in our future.

First, we must love God, placing Him first. Loving God means obeying His commands. When we truly love Him, it will propel us to obey Him. There is not one problem from our past that He cannot redeem. God is able to redeem all things. Time is a gift from God.

Time has the kiss of God for His people and the sharp teeth of mortality for the unbelieving and hard of heart. “To everything there is a season…” Eccl. 3:1. When it comes to time, we need to know the prophetic value of time before we step into eternity. It was years ago when Troy was a guitar player in a Christian band that he saw an impactful sign at an event.

Later he learned it was a saying of Einstein, who said, “Time is God’s way of keeping everything from happening at once.”  Troy says God began to talk to him about time. He says God wants us to move from past to future, from dark to light, and from death to life. Because you have time, you have a great opportunity to grow with Him and in Him.

Troy says God created time for the purpose of works for redemption, and the timeline is a way for us to actually observe it. It begins with the fall of Adam and ends with a new heaven and earth. A biblical timeline looks like a 7-day week with every 1,000 years being a day (2 Peter 3:8).

The last day is the millennial reign of Jesus Christ after He comes back at the end of the Tribulation, a day of rest.  The purpose of time is to provide a place and environment to deal with sin and death.  If you still have time, you still have an opportunity to bring God’s redemptive work into your life, changing things from death unto life.

If your spirit has been redeemed, your mind is being redeemed, and someday your body will be redeemed. God created time for the purpose of redemptive works, it is wisdom and the proper use of time to invite God into every timeline you can think of –past, present, and future. Ask God to meet you there and do the work of His heart.

How does redeeming time helps us and others to overcome trauma and hurt in our past? God has forgiven all our sins, but we are good at holding on to them. We are also good at holding onto our pain and trauma until it literally defines us. Redeeming time heals that.

THE NUMBERS

Troy has loved studying the meaning of certain numbers in the Bible for more than 20 years. “It makes some foggy things in the Bible clear, and it’s fun,” he says.  Troy is clear that his study of numbers is not to be confused with numerology, which is associated with the paranormal, and is, in Troy’s words, “witchcraft.”  He explains that there is no power in numbers, only in God Himself, but the numbers in Scripture have meaning and show God has purpose in all things.
