Why Water? Healthy Drinking That is Crystal Clear
Many people drink six to eight sodas, coffee or tea per day to get that caffeine kick. For those wanting a healthier refreshment they may drink fruit juice. Yet others get added nutrients through sports drinks. There are many choices when you decide to get a drink. For most, if they really work at it they might drink one or two glasses of water per day. When you consider that the body is 70 percent water (not soda) you have to wonder what we are doing to our bodies. For those who want to live a life that honors God they need to be more than “pure at heart”. Take the doctor’s advice and drink at least eight glasses of water per day.
Water - It is so important. Nothing can live without it. Some of your vital organs are up to 83 percent water. Your muscles are made of that much water. It helps maintain proper muscle tone. Without water, your muscles can’t contract properly. If you think that means you may simply get an occasional “Charlie Horse” or cramp you are only partly right. The heart is a muscle. Too much dehydration can be deadly.
For those wanting to improve their weight you should know some facts about water.
Water suppresses the appetite naturally. It helps rid the body of waste. Drinking enough water is the best treatment for fluid retention. The more water you drink the less water you retain. So if you want to lose weight drink plenty of water.
Beyond the recommended eight glasses of water per day, the over-weight person needs one additional glass for every 15 to 25 pounds that they wish to lose. For example, to lose 50 pounds you would need to drink 10 to 11 glasses of water per day.
The body will not function properly without enough water. It can’t metabolize stored fat efficiently. Retained water shows up as excess weight. To get rid of excess water, you must drink more water. Drinking water is essential to weight loss.
When exercising, detoxifying the body, and maintaining healthy skin – water is key.
When we exercise, we perspire; this is the body’s natural air-conditioning system. Water is a natural coolant, as it rises to the surface of the skin; it brings internal heat to the surface where it can cool. If the body is running low on its water supply, this natural process is slowed, then we overheat. That is when we are subject to a heat stroke, or severe cramping. We must keep plenty of fresh, clean water coming in, especially when it is hot or when we will be over exerting ourselves.
Water helps cleanse toxins and poisons from the body. Without the presence of water in our systems these toxins can build up and cause disease and sickness.
Drinking plenty of water keeps the skin moist. That can help slow the signs of aging like dryness and wrinkling. That is why you almost always see the Hollywood stars carrying bottled water with them. Their skin is their commodity.
I’ve been a personal trainer for 18 years in Virginia, with several studios. I highly recommend that you drink distilled water, because it will not pollute the body as you drink it. Tap, filtered, and spring water all pollute the body as it passes through you. These all have inorganic minerals in then. You need minerals; however, you are much better getting them from fruits and vegetables, which have organic minerals the body can absorb.
Got Faith? Got water? What’s in your bod?
“The human body is a temple of the holy spirit, who is in us, whom we have received from God. We are not our own; we were bought at a price. Therefore we are to honor God with our bodies”.
There is a passage in the Bible that says “faith without works is dead”. That means you can’t fake being “spiritual”. If God is IN you he’ll be a part of your daily lifestyle. Your spirit functions well and is hydrated best when you’ve got God.
Your body without water is dead. So, drink water and plenty of it. The reasons are crystal clear.
