"Mommy, please make my arm better."
Sakshi is a sweet little girl, who was born with an abnormality in her left shoulder.
Her mother explained, “Her shoulder is deformed, so when she lifts her arms she cries with pain. People call her names and tell her she’s handicapped.”
Sakshi could not brush her own hair or get dressed by herself. She got bullied and teased at school so badly her parents decided to let her stay home.
“Our hearts break for her, but we don’t know what to do,” said her mother. “We cannot afford to get her the medical attention she needs. I feel helpless. She always asks me, ‘Mommy, please make my arm better.’ I say, ‘We will get it done as soon as we save enough money,’ but we know that day will never come.”
When her family heard about Operation Blessing, they reached out to us. Operation Blessing arranged and paid for her surgery. Soon, she was outside shooting hoops.
Her mother said, “Our daughter is completely fine now, and I am so happy. She plays outside with the other children, and she has returned to school. She doesn’t even struggle with her backpack. She can do everything without any help. You good people have supported us a lot. I am very thankful for everyone who helped us.”
