Life After Abuse...
CBN.com - The last time Kung ever saw her husband was the day he took their baby son on his motorcycle after he had been drinking. He left the infant on the side of the road. Fortunately, Kung had followed him and rescued him.
“My husband saw me and screamed at me when I followed him. He said he was leaving and never wanted to see us again,” Kung said.
With no one to help her, Kung believed that she and her son would end up living on the streets.
“I was afraid. I had no one to lean on. How would my son and I survive?” she told CBN. “I thought I would have no choice but to beg on the streets or become a prostitute.”
Before that happened, a friend told Kung about a Christian home for single mothers supported by CBN’s Orphans Promise. There she found a safe place to live, food, milk and diapers for her son O-bay. She also received counseling, and learned to sew.
One day at a Bible study Kung prayed to become a Christian.
“I had heard of Jesus before, but I didn’t really know Him until I came here. My new friends are so good to me. They showed me the love of God!” Kung said.
Kung now works full-time at the home providing child-care for other single moms who live there and work outside the home. She especially enjoys teaching all the kids about Jesus.
“I used to be depressed and hopeless,” she said, “but I have put the past behind me. I feel like I have been born again. I’m very happy now! Thank you, CBN!
