2012: The Budget Issue

Today the House plans to vote on a GOP plan to cut billions of dollars from the federal budget in 2012.

This is Budget Committee Chairman, Rep. Paul Ryan's infamous plan. It boasts cuts of more than $6 billion from President Obama's budget, which was put on the table back in February.

Get ready for a fight, people.

Last night, at a fundraiser in Chicago, President Obama said, "We can get our fiscal house in order, but we can do it in a way that is consistent with our values and who we are as a people.

Obama is saying he is not being partisan in this budget fight, saying, "it matters how we get there."

Maybe his problem with Rep. Ryan's budget proposal are with proposed cuts to food stamps and Medicaid.

You can bet your bottom dollar that this budget business will be a major issue in the 2012 election!
