Overwhelmed By God’s Love and Provision!
After Kham escaped her abusive husband, she struggled financially to raise her two daughters alone. To provide for them, she worked ten hours a day, up to seven days a week at a pineapple factory in Thailand.
“My mom peels 50 pineapples an hour,” said Kham’s 6-year-old daughter Bua Kham proudly. “She is very fast! I am so proud of her."
"It’s been hard to take care of my daughters on my own,” said Kham. “But whenever I feel tired, I just look at their faces, and I am filled with new strength.”
Then Kham lost her job. “I did not know what to do,” she said. “When we had no food, I would borrow 50-cents from a neighbor to buy two eggs and some sticky rice.”
“Sometimes, my mom would eat our leftovers. But I don’t think she felt full,” added Bua Kham.
CBN’s Orphans Promise first met the family when the girls attended an afterschool program at a nearby church. There they received hot meals, got help with school and watched CBN’s Superbook.
When Kham lost her job, Orphan’s Promise gave her what she needed to start a business making and selling banana chips. We gave her equipment and produce and taught her how to run a business.
Kham now delivers chips to seven shops in the area and earns enough to feed her family and pay her bills. “Now, we always have lots of food to eat,” said daughter Bua Kham. “Thank you for your kindness to our family!”
Because of the care they received through the church, the whole family has prayed to become Christians. “I don’t know where my daughters and I would be without the help from Orphan’s Promise. We can’t thank you enough!”
