Pray for America - Day 26
Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts. – Jeremiah 15:16
DAY 26: "Taste and See"
When in an ice cream store, you usually can get a tempting taste of ice cream—unfortunately the taste is on one of those tiny little spoons! Store owners know those “tastes” likely will lead you to want more!
God’s Word is rich in nourishment, and in Psalm 34 David encourages us to taste and see that the Lord is good. The psalm is filled with testimonies of God’s blessings. David begins by praising and exalting the name of the Lord. He acknowledges that God answers prayer and testifies how God delivers us from our fears. David reminds us that angels are all around us and shows us how to discipline our tongues and to seek God’s peace instead. He tells us the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears attentive to their cry. David assures us the Lord will deliver us from our troubles and afflictions because He is near to the brokenhearted. Finally, David reminds us that the Lord redeems the soul of His servant and those who trust in Him will not be condemned.
Pray that God’s people throughout our country will reflect the joy of being filled up with God’s Word and want more! Pray that our rejoicing will be so appealing that the message of hope will come alive to those in need of the Living Word.
