Pray for America - Day 27
That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. – John 17:21
DAY 27: "One"
We are the United States of America. But are we united? As a nation, it is evident that we are not. As believers, it should be evident that we are.
In Ephesians 4, Paul clearly lays out the distinctive elements of the Christian life, with the underlying message of unity through our core beliefs. There is one body (our brotherhood of the faith), one Spirit (the Holy Spirit), one Lord (Jesus Christ), one faith (confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior), one baptism (the Spirit baptizing all into one body) and one God and Father of all (Jehovah), who is above all, through all and in us all. The message given to those who confess Christ is this: We are one family under God—through every circumstance, His presence remains, and His Spirit dwells inside all of those He calls His own. United we stand, but divided we will fall. The time has come for those in Christ to unite with one voice, making a declaration of dependence on the one true God, Jehovah, in Jesus Christ His Son and by the Holy Spirit—three in one.
Pray for the voice of believers to become “one” across America. Pray for the message of unity in Christ to be heard above today’s clamor of discontent.
