Esther's Breakthrough

The Book of Esther tells the story of a historic breakthrough for the Jewish people through one intercessor, Queen Esther. You know the story of her bold decision to approach King Ahasuerus to stop the wicked plans of Haman to destroy all the Jews. While we often focus on Esther's diligent preparation to intercede for her people, what we sometimes overlook was the extravagant willingness of her King to answer her petition. Perhaps today this will serve as a reminder of the extravagant "willingness of King Jesus" to answer our petitions as we appeal to Him for intervention through prayer.

As CBN calls the Body of Christ to prayer through Operation Breakthrough, it is important to remember the "willing" heart of God to intervene on behalf of his people. For 21 days, we are interceding for Iraq and the War on Terrorism. Our great King, Jesus Christ, beckons us to call upon His Name for help. He is more than willing to act on behalf of our intercession. Esther's breakthrough can be our breakthrough!

In the Book of Esther, it is recorded three different times how "willing" King Ahasuerus was to lavishly grant her request:

On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king's hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance. When he saw Queen Esther standing in the court, he was pleased with her and held out to her the gold scepter that was in his hand. So Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter. Then the king asked, "What is it, Queen Esther? What is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be given you. (Esther 5: 1-3)

So the king and Haman went to the banquet Esther had prepared. As they were drinking wine, the king again asked Esther, "Now what is your petition? It will be given you. And what is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be granted. (Esther 5: 5-6)

So the king and Haman went to dine with Queen Esther, and as they were drinking wine on that second day, the king again asked, "Queen Esther, what is your petition? It will be given you. What is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be granted. (Esther 7: 1-2)

Talk about an open checkbook! What King in his right mind would make such an offer? "Esther, ask me anything, up to half the kingdom and it is yours." This was an incredible opportunity to access the King's favor, power, and authority. It was also an incredible display of how much the King loved Queen Esther. The love of Christ for his church is beyond understanding (Ephesians 3: 17-20).

Can you hear the voice of King Jesus in this hour speaking to His beloved Bride, the Body of Christ, the same words? Do you hear the King of Kings asking His royal family for their petitions?

I believe in this critical moment of history, the King of the Universe, our beloved Redeemer, is asking us this question:

· What do you want me to do in Iraq?
· What do you want me to do against the wicked Haman's that have risen up to terrorize the earth?

But I hear more than a question. I hear the Lord Jesus declaring to His people in this divinely appointed moment in history:

"What is your petition, beloved church? I will do it! What is your request? It is my pleasure to give you the Kingdom and the desires of your heart concerning Iraq, the Middle East, and the War on Terrorism! Just ASK! It will be done!"

God's eternal word forever confirms His open invitation to pray and receive Kingly answers from His throne room:

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (John 14: 12-14)

Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. (Matthew 18: 19-20)

I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea," and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11: 23-24)

This is an hour of great breakthrough for the Body of Christ because our King is so "willing" to move on behalf of our prayers, petitions, and intercession for Iraq, the spread of the Gospel in the Middle East, and the War on Terrorism.

Operation Breakthrough has seven simple requests. God wants to answer each one through His awesome power:

· Divine intervention and spiritual breakthroughs in Iraq
· A successful transition of power in Iraq
· Supernatural protection of U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan
· The capture of key terrorist leaders
· Divine protection of the U.S. in this season of heightened terror alerts
· Guidance for President Bush and his administration during this critical period
· A future of hope, stability, peace, and democracy in Iraq and throughout the Middle East

God is willing! Get ready

Our great King is about to grant His beloved church great victories.

Answers and strategies from heaven are manifesting on earth.

Demonic strongholds are falling.

Wicked Hamans are about to be rooted up and torn down.
