Rick Warren Compares McCain's Faith to Gerald Ford

08-14-2008

OK so John McCain doesn't like to talk about his faith in public. In my one on one interview with Mega-Church pastor Rick Warren, he compares McCain to Ford in that respect. Watch above. Read below.

John's faith is more like the faith of say a Jerry Ford. Jerry Ford was a born again believer. He just didn't believe in talking about. In fact when you go back over the last seven or eight Presidents -- you go through Jerry Ford, Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. What do these men have in common? Nothing. They're all opposite except every one of the men claimed to be born again. Some of them talked about it more than the others, but some of them didn't which shows that a person could have a born again faith and be way on the difference in politics.

I mean Carter and Reagan are extreme opposites, and Bush and Clinton are extreme opposites. But they both claim to be born again. So you have to ask more than simply, "do you know the lingo or are you born again."

You have to say "what is your world view and does your world view fit my world view?"

You have every right to ask that question.

Warren tells me he will bring up the topic of their personal faith at the Compassion Civil Forum Saturday night at Saddleback Church in California. I'll be there for it.
