Obama’s Whoops Moment

08-23-2008

Normally Barack Obama is great at making speeches but today in Springfield, Ill. he seemed to bungle a few lines. No biggie except when it came time for the money line he flubbed it. The McCain campaign is already picking up on it. Here’s what Obama said:

Obama: "So let me introduce to you the next President -- the next Vice President of United States of America, Joe Biden!”

The video is here.

The McCain campaign then released this statement:

"Barack Obama sounded as though he turned over the top spot on the ticket today to his new mentor, when he introduced Joe Biden as the next president. The reality is that nothing has changed since Joe Biden first made his assessment that Barack Obama is not ready to lead. He wasn't ready then and he isn't ready now."

Don’t be surprised if you see Obama’s slip up in a new McCain campaign ad. But hey, the McCain camp is playing with fire here because while Obama has his fair share of slip ups, so does McCain. Does either campaign really want to go down that road?
