Newt Gingrich, the former Speaker of the House who will decide whether he will run for President in the next few months, tells The Brody File that, while President Obama's policies are "very dangerous" and that he's "academically aloof," he does not believe Obama is a bad man or believes that he doesn't love America.

Newt Gingrich will be part of next week's Brody file show. Also on the show: Live in studio with George Allen and Tim Phillips, President of Americans for Prosperity.

David Brody: You think President Obama means well in terms of what he's doing?

Newt Gingrich: Oh, yeah. I don't think he's a bad human being.

David Brody: A lot of people think he's up to something conspiratorial.

Newt Gingrich: I said the other day I thought he was a good and decent man. And I had somebody at a book signing come up and say, "Don't ever say that again."

We have deep philosophical disagreements. I think there are things that he's doing that are, frankly, very dangerous. But I think he's doing them out of a naïve belief. I happen to think he's wrong, but I think it's a genuine belief, and I think that he loves this country and would like to do the best he can for this country.

It's just I think that his background makes him so academically aloof and so distant from normal reality, for everyday people, that with the best of intentions, he's doing a fair amount of damage.
