Exclusive: Joe The Plumber's Warning to Beltway Crowd: "I'm not coming to Washington, D.C., to make friends'

Joe The Plumber,” (a.k.a. Samuel Wurzelbacher) made an appearance on The Brody File set here in D.C. this week and said if he wins a U.S. House seat this fall against longtime Democrat incumbent Marcy Kaptur, he promised the following: "I'm not coming to Washington, D.C., to make friends. I’m coming here to get something done.”

Wurzelbacher says as a congressman his two top priorities will be tax reform and the burdensome regulations imposed by the federal government. Watch the video clip below.

“Joe the Plumber” has an uphill battle against him as he faces Kaptur in a district that leans Democratic. But with his name recognition and the right political climate, he could pull the upset. The guy is no-nonsense, which seems to fit the mood of voters right now.

David Brody: “When you come to Washington, and you need to spend some political capital, what are you going to do it on? What’s the issue, that when you come to DC, that you’re going to say, you know what? This is my number one. My pet issue, if you will?”??

Samuel Wurzelbacher: It’s actually hand in hand - tax reform and getting rid of a lot of burdens and regulations that have been imposed upon us. I make the argument as well, I believe that the federal government is responsible for destroying the automobile industry through tax codes and through heavy regulations. And ultimately, nothing’s changed after the bailout.

Unconstitutional or constitutional, however your opinion is, I really don’t care about that. But really, the federal government, getting them involved in the private market through our bad tax code system and through the heavy hand of regulations, they destroyed the automobile industry. Nothing’s changed after that, so it’s going to happen again.

Our tax code is still terrible, regulations are getting more tight, so that’s what I’m going to push towards. And I’ll use whatever platform I can to make that happen. I’m not coming to Washington, D.C., to make friends. I’m coming here to get something done.
