There’s been a lot of talk about Rep. Paul Ryan for vice president. For all the positives that he brings, I’m not so sure Romney will pull the trigger.
Romney is a guy that typically doesn’t go for big and bold. He’s more reserved and likes to play it safe. Ryan would not be a safe pick because he hasn’t been vetted at the national level and his budget plan leaves the Democrats a big opening.
It’s not the Ryan’s not a good pick because he clearly brings plenty to the table. But remember something here: Romney is on the record saying that his number one qualification for VP is someone who can step in and be president if need be. Ryan’s youth and and relative inexperience leaves Romney vulnerable on that question.
Who does The Brody File think it will be? Definitely NOT Harry Reid or Sarah Palin.
The Brody File’s top three guesses: Tim Pawlenty, Bobby Jindal, Rob Portman, Bob McDonnell. I’m thinking Pawlenty.
