Sid Roth's Messianic Vision

MESSIANIC VISION
In 1977, Sid started Messianic Vision and a nationally syndicated radio broadcast by the same name.  Sid says Messianic Vision is more than a ministry or program; it is a desire to reach out with the good news of the Messiah, “to the Jew first” Romans 1:16.  “This is not just God’s historical order for spreading the Gospel, but also His eternal spiritual order. When we follow this law of evangelism, God opens a supernatural door to reach Gentiles as well.  God’s heart is to reach all people.  His strategy is to the Jew first.”

Sid says God is moving throughout the Jewish people more than he’s ever seen in his 40 years of ministry.  His most recent trip was April 2016 but he says the response he gets from all unsaved Jews everywhere is overwhelming. Sid says Jewish people are more intrigued by the supernatural than any other religious group.  While speaking to them, Sid always starts with the miracles.  “Once the miracles occur, I have their undivided attention,” he says. “God is turning up in the miracles.  The purpose of the miracle is not to be healed; it’s to demonstrate the kingdom of heaven and earn the right to present to them the King of the Jews.” By the Jewish calendar, the year is 5777 and Sid believes the three sevens are a sign from God that now is the time to evangelize Jewish people.  “There’s an openness like I’ve never seen before.  I don’t see it as a coincidence,” he says.

In 1982, Middle East Television was given to CBN by the late George Otis of High Adventure Ministries. In 1997, METV, originally located in southern Lebanon, began broadcasting in Arabic and English.  After Israel withdrew from southern Lebanan, the country was subject to attacks from the terrorist group Hezbollah.  Occasionally radical Islamists bombed the studio and Syrians attacked the transmitters with artillery shells.  In 2000, the staff at METV fled to the border of Israel under a rain of bullets.  “At that point, METV had to move,” says Pat Robertson.  “So we moved up to Cypress and began to broadcast on Israeli satellite.” In 2001, METV was sold to Pete Sumrall and LeSea Broadcasting which has successfully broadcast the Gospel to the Middle East for the last 15 years.  LeSea Broadcasting believed it was time to take METV to the next level and felt certain Messianic Vision was the ministry that would do just that.  “I know this is the set time to have mercy on Israel,” says Sid.  “METV is the platform.  A great Jewish harvest is upon us and the Jewish harvest will be the catalyst for the greatest Gentile harvest in history!”

TO THE JEW FIRST
Sid was raised in a traditional Jewish home and attended synagogue where he was bar mitzvah.  Like most American Jews, he found organized religion irrelevant to his life.  “I was proud of being Jewish, but bored with religion,” says Sid.  His god was money and he wanted to be a millionaire by the time he was 30.  At 29, he had graduated from college, was married, the father of one daughter and an account executive for Merrill Lynch.  Though he had a great career, Sid felt like a failure because he had not become a millionaire as planned.  He left his wife, daughter and job to search for happiness.  His journey led him to Eastern meditation.  “During the search, I almost lost my mind,” says Sid.  “Life was too difficult.”

When a Christian businessman challenged Sid that the Jewish Bible condemned his occult practices, Sid began to read the Jewish Scriptures.  The Christian also told Sid that his Orthodox Jewish upbringing had carefully hidden Jesus as the Messiah from him.  As Sid read his Bible, the New Age spirit inside him began to torment him from inside his mind.  “I had a power, a strong power, and it was evil.  I went to sleep that night so full of fear, I wanted to die,” says Sid.  In desperation he prayed, Jesus, help.  Sid felt a tangible peace and feeling of love he had never experienced before which took the place of his fear and desperation.  At that moment, Sid knew Jesus was real.  God saved Sid, returned him to his right mind and restored his marriage and family.  Sid’s entire Jewish family came to know Jesus.  Since 1972, Sid has devoted his life to telling Jewish people Jesus is our Messiah.
