A Dangerous Fight for Water
CBN.com — Western India
Tensions built every day as Vyastha and his tribe hiked to their only source of water. They knew they would have to fight against time and each other.
“We would break the railway pipeline to get water,” explained Vyastha. “We fought over the water, because we knew we didn’t have much time before the railway police would chase us off. We knew it was wrong, but we couldn’t live without water.”
The Indian government tried to drill a well in the village, but they never struck water. Vyastha and his family were disappointed, but soon they found hope in another form.
“In the year 2010, my son fell sick,” Vyastha sadly said. “A pastor found out about him and visited our home. He prayed for my son and encouraged us to put our trust in Jesus.”
His son was healed, and Vyastha’s entire family became Christians. That’s when they started praying for a clean water source close to their home.
Vyastha said, “Soon after our prayers, CBN’s drilling team came to our village. People were wondering if water would actually come out of the pump. Then it happened! Water came out! Many people accepted Jesus as their one, true God. Now we don’t have to fight over water, and we can live in peace. Thank you CBN!”
