Hope After the Hail

CBN.com — When Najo's husband passed away two years ago, all he was able to leave to his wife and three children was a small house made of bamboo and grass, which he had built with his own hands.

"Our house gave us shade from the sun and shelter from the rain. It was very valuable to us," said Najo.

To make money, Najo grew corn on some borrowed land, until the owner told them they could no longer use it. Najo had no other choice but to work doing road construction.

"Life has become very hard," she said. "I had to take on my husband's job of earning money. I won't give up though because I love my children."

Then a storm, with baseball size hail, nearly destroyed Najo's bamboo house.

"We were terrified. The storm blew parts of our wall away. We prayed that God would protect us," she said.

After the storm, she couldn't afford to fix the house or the roof, so they all lived in what remained.

When a staff member from CBN saw how they were living, we built them a brand new house.

"I never dreamed that I would have a house like this," she said. " God sent His servants to help me!"

And to help Najo to provide for her family, we gave her some pigs to raise and sell. We also gave her tools and seeds to plant a small garden outside her new home.

"I'm so happy! God has blessed me through CBN," Najo said. "My children and I give thanks to God and to you for all your help."
