Reach the World: Internet Evangelism Day, April 26, 2009
Many churches around the world will highlight the potential of the Internet on April 26th by holding an 'Internet Evangelism Day'. This international focus day program explains how the Web is a God-given tool for outreach, and provides help for Christians to use it effectively. Many churches will build a presentation into their services or promote other activities on or near that day. This may be as short as a 2-minute announcement, or can be a longer program using the free downloads from IE Day's site, including free PowerPoint presentations, video clips, music, drama scripts and handouts.
This website is also a year-round online resource guide with many ideas for web outreach and strategy, including a self-assessment tool to help churches develop their websites to reach outsiders in the community:

One surprising emphasis: "You don't need to be technical to be an online evangelist," says IE Day coordinator Tony hittaker. "There are many ways you can share your faith in your spare time, without any technical knowledge at all." Church leaders have welcomed this resource. Elder statesman John Stott writes, "I am glad to commend Internet Evangelism Day."

With just three weeks to go until Internet Evangelism Day, there is still time to mark this in your church in some way. Here is a helpful planning guide to spur ideas for your church or ministry:

Free Online Leaflet Explains Digital Evangelism
A new leaflet has been published by Internet Evangelism Day, to explain the potential of digital evangelism. This two-page overview can be downloaded in Word or PDF formats, ready to print and use as a handout. Users have complete freedom to adapt it, or republish it (either extracts or in full) in print, web or email publications.
The PDF version is also a useful addition to any website, providing a one-click introduction to web outreach. Webmasters can link directly to it, or add the file to their own server.

Free Evaluation Reports on Church Websites
Internet Evangelism Day also offers an online self-assessment questionnaire, enabling churches to enhance their websites to reach out into the community. "Your church website is a 'shop window' for your community," says IE Day coordinator Tony Whittaker. Yet very few church websites are designed with these outsiders in mind. The questionnaire creates a free evaluation report to highlight areas of a site that can be developed.
