Health Care Message Machine
If you think the fight over health care is over, you might as well think again. As you've heard some Republicans already, they'll be preaching the "repeal the bill" message in the 2010 elections, and don't think the White House isn't ready to fight as well.
President Obama has hired Stephanie Cutter as "Assistant to the President on Special Projects." Her job, among other things, will be to oversee the White House's message on health care. She'll run the communications strategy and outreach.
Cutter is a Democratic strategist with some Obama White House experience already under her belt. She recently served as an advisor to First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" initiative. She was also an advisor to the President overseeing the communications strategy of the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. She also served as counselor to the Treasury Secretary, where she helped guide the strategy behind the financial stability plan.
Stephanie Cutter gets to work in her new role May first.
Passing along information to you about a White House hire like this may seem a little "inside baseball." But, I think it speaks to how important the White House considers its health care message.
So, there you go.
