Late Night at the White House
Drama, drama, drama!
It's almost 11 p.m. and the White House is jumping with activity! President Obama just wrapped up budget discussions with Congressional leadership, and there are still differences between them that are keeping them from having a done deal on a permanent budget.
He spoke in the Briefing Room with reporters, saying that aides and staffers will work through the night to hammer out a deal. Obama said there's no reason they shouldn't be able to come to a compromise.
Oh my! Pins and needles!
House Speaker John Boehner said they're going to continue to work through the night. He appeared outside the White House with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Reid didn't speak, but shook his head in agreement with Boehner when Boehner said no one wants the government to shut down.
Stay tuned!
