The 700 Club

Abandoned by His Parents

Ken Hulme - 700 Club International Managing Director

In the middle of the covid pandemic, a little boy was dropped off at a small church in Thailand. He’d been abandoned by his parents. Without help, he might have died. “When Baby Khun first came to us, he was covered in insect bites,” recalled Somsri, his foster mom.  “He looked very pale, and he often got sick.”

Somsri and her husband, Samai, are pastors nearing retirement. Yet they brought Khun into their home.  “When I first saw him, I fell in love with him,” said Somsri. “Baby Khun was a special gift from God to us. We believed God would help us take good care of him.”

When their church shut down due to the pandemic, their small source of income dried up. “It was a very difficult time. We had to borrow money to buy milk for Khun. I cried and prayed to God to provide for us,” Somsri said.

Then CBN’s orphan’s promise provided some help. On three occasions, we gave them food and clothes for Khun, along with formula and diapers. We also paid for the toddler to receive monthly checkups, and for medicine when he got sick. Today, Kuhn is a healthy and happy two-year-old. Somsri and her husband hope one day to adopt him.

“Khun is a very cheerful boy,” said Somsri. “When we say, ‘Praise the Lord,’ he says ‘Hallelujah,’ and lifts his hands. We thank God for sending you to help our family. May God bless you!”
