Son of Fallen Hero Skateboarding across the US
Check out the story we ran last week about Shayne Carlson, the son of a hero that I served with in the U.S. Army Rangers many years ago.
Shayne's father, William "Chief" Carlson was a well-respected Ranger who went on to serve the rest of his Army career among the uber-elite members of Delta Force. A member of the Blackfeet Indian nation, Chief fit in well in war zones around the globe because of his dark hair and skin, and was described by teammates as "one of the hardest men you would ever hope to meet.
Chief retired from Active duty just after 9/11 changed the world as we know it. He then volunteered to go back to the war zone as a contractor for the CIA. It was there, during a "hunting party" for Usama bin Laden along the Pakistan border that Chief heroically lost his life while saving those of the men around him.
Chief's son Shayne is out to honor his father's sacrifice and raise awareness for wounded warriors by skateboarding across the United States with two friends.
CBN interviewed them right before they kicked off this 3,200-mile trek.
